Flexibility/Strength
This class is full
This 45 min-long class focuses on building core strength and increasing endurance and flexibility through a variety of exercises using ankle weights, resistance bands, exercise ball, foam rollers and light weights.

*Why is strength and conditioning important for my dancer?*

Dancers are athletes. Just like football players and gymnasts, dancers deal with the risk of injury. Conditioning students in functional strength and flexibility while teaching them the appropriate way to use their bodies decreases the chance of injury. As students progress to the advanced levels of class there is an increased need for endurance to complete prolonged combinations and train through longer class times efficiently. As students progress levels the demand on the body is increased just as it is with sports. By strengthening and conditioning students as they grow and improve as dancers decrease the chance of injury and in the long run creates an intelligent, well-rounded artist with self-awareness.

Contemporary / Jazz Dance Class Level 1A
This class is full
Contemporary combines ballet and modern techniques with musical and emotional expression with a strong focus on modern techniques (contractions and release, off-center balances and suspension) as well as musicality and self-expression.

level I: explores the contemporary style with introductory level technique and focus on interpreting music and choreography. Students will work on the ability to pick up stylized choreography and movements.

Contemporary/Jazz -II A Intermediate level
This class is full
In our, Contemporary Jazz class students will learn a dance style with influences of Acro, Ballet, Modern, Lyrical, and Hip-Hop are combined to create today’s style of innovative Contemporary Jazz. The material in this level is designed to train the intermediate level dancer to execute more difficult turns, leaps, and other progressions. More challenging combinations and floor progressions are combined in the center from the different elements learned in warmup exercises. Level II: Students should show proficiency in level I before moving up to level II.

Hip Hop incorporates a variety of old and new urban dance styles. The dancing represents body movements that go with the beat and rhythm of Postive, inspirational or instrumental hip-hop music. Hip-hop dancing is very dynamic and helps the dancers improve flexibility develop body balance, and coordination. Great for beginner/intermediate level dancers looking for a fun, upbeat class.

*We do not use any explicit lyric music. All music is Kid and Family Friendly :)

This class is full
Hip-hop is a high-energy class that infuses the latest styles of street dancing, breaking, popping, and locking. Classes will encourage students to step outside of the box by bringing their own individual style and personality to the movements. Hip-hop dance requires students to have the strength and stamina to successfully perform moves. Therefore class includes upper and lower body conditioning as well as a rigorous warm-up to help prepare students for more intense movements.
