Modern is a free, expressive style of dance that started in the early 20th century as a response to classical ballet. Modern classes at PSB explore the foundations and roots of modern dance, including a mix of modern techniques/styles such as Horton, Limon, Taylor, and Cunningham.

(S4/S5/S6) In composition class, or 'Creating Choreography', students will learn to widen their range of movement and explore their artistry, as well as discover the choreographic process.

Dance the summer away! The first-ever Portland Ballet Junior Intensive will be a fun and varied program, geared toward students in S1/S2/S3 or their equivalent (ages 7.5-11) who want to maintain their training over summer.

Each day will consist of a ballet technique class, time for crafts, and choreography. Students will have an in-studio performance the end of each week.

TUITION: $320 (to reserve your spot, a $100 non-refundable deposit is due by June 15th)

5 students must be registered by June 15th for this program to run.
