Dancers ages 6+ will have a week full of dance, friends and fun! Explore an enchanted world of mystical animals, including unicorns and fairies, create your own mystical animal, all while learning Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Acro, Hip Hop, Improvisation and much more. Many activities planned through out the week: build a craft, paint with your feet, field trip for ice cream, water day, movie time and game time. Make it a memorable summer. Create a collaborative performance for Friday. Dancers with and without experience are welcome.

DX Team Auditions During Intensive 8/12-8/15
Auditions for the 2019-20 Season. There is no charge for auditions but dancers must register. Dancers must be registered in the Summer Intensive with guest teachers. During this intensive dancers will be evaluated for skill and ability levels for the team. The weekend after dancers will be notified of acceptance and what dances and levels they may compete in.
Rehearsals will start in August Thurs 22 and 29 from 5-8, then in Sept starts regular rehearsals on Fri.

Summer Intensive is a 3 day workshop with guest artists for various technques. Dancers can brush up on their technique or learn new technique. Dancers will be divided into levels by age and abililty. Each day will consist of a conditioning warm up along with leaps and turns and a master class such techniques as Jazz, Lyrical, Tap, Contemporary, Modern, Acro or Hip Hop. Focusing on strong technique, performance and fun. A list of guest artists and actually classes will be posted in June.

Jazz technique has many benefits; exercise, coordination, socialization and creativity. Jazz is an energetic technique which allows the dancer to express themselves physically. It has flowing movements similar to ballet but has fast, sharp moves with turns, leaps and creative footwork. If your not into sports, taking jazz will give you the same benefits in physical movements.

Lyrical/Contempo Level 4
Dancers will learn AdvInterm/Adv Lyrical and Contemporary technique. This class has competitive and non competitive dancers. Learning the art of Lyrical. Lyrical is smoother and faster than ballet but not as fast as jazz. Having a solid beginning in ballet or taking ballet helps the dancer in lyrical. The movements are characterized by fluidity and grace by moving seamlessly from one step to the next. Lyrical uses the expression of emotions that the song conveys telling a story to the audience.

Tap is a great source of exercise, boosting metabolism and a energetic leg workout, building upon the cardiovascular system.
