Course Description: Hip-hop is a street style with a wide range but always representing self-expression. This class will focus on learning a competitive hip hop routine for performance. Ideal students have had former training before joining this class.
Please note: This is a competition class. This class will learn a routine to compete in NYC/Plus Convention 1/2020 ($300) and Albany 4/2020 ($50).
Requirements:
Comp students can miss no more than 3 classes per school year.

LAKE CITY JUNIORS
The Lake City Juniors just completed their inaugural year 2018 and were a smash hit! This is a performance team coached by CS director Heather Van Arsdel. The team is comprised of male and female dancers ages 4-7 years old. They learn and perfect actual NBA kid friendly dance routines and perform them all over the Champlain Valley.
Requirements: By invite only. Invited members are required to take a 2nd weekly class.

The Lake City Kids is a performance team coached by CS director Heather Van Arsdel. The team is comprised of male and female dancers ages 7-12 years old. It's a wonderful, nurturing environment that really helps your little one build confidence, performance and leadership skills. By invite only.
Requirements: Members are required to enroll in a technique class.

The "Lake City Breakers" are a performance team coached by Roy Lancaster. The team is comprised professionally trained breakers 8-18 years old. They learn and perfect intricate breaking routines and perform them all over the Champlain Valley. It's a wonderful, nurturing environment that helps build confidence, performance and leadership skills.

Our teachers come from various backgrounds and will teach a fusion of classical ballet techniques including the American Ballet Theatre curriculum. Tap is fun on it's own, teaching isolation and beats. Combine the two and your little dancer is off and running!

Students in this level should have already had base of beg. gym. They work to build skills needed to move up to (3). This is floor gymnastics only. No apparatuses.
Students MUST be able to do a (front/back walk-overs, one-handed cartwheels, handstands) unassisted to be able to move up to the next level (3).

Course Description: Gymnastics/Acro (3/4) Students MUST be able to do a (front/back walk-overs, one-handed cartwheels, handstands) unassisted to be eligible for this class. This class will focus on perfecting floor skills and working towards a back-hand sprang. This is floor gymnastics only. No apparatuses.
Students will work towards back hand springs / flips or tucks and towards more advanced floor skills.

Course Description: This class will focus on learning a competitive lyrical routine for performance. Ideal students have had former technical training before joining this class. Lyrical dance is a fusion of ballet and jazz dance techniques. Dancers use motion to interpret music and express emotion.

Please note: This is a competition class. This class will learn a routine to compete in NYC/Plus Convention 1/19-1/20 ($300) and Albany 4/5-4/7 ($50). Additional fees apply.

TUMBLE TYKES
Course Description: Tumble Tykes tumbling classes are a great way to help your child develop strength and flexibility, as well as concentration skills. Your little one will jump, run, roll, crawl and have a great time! They will learn to overcome fear and try things that may seem a little scary at first. Tumbling and gymnastics is also a very social sport, and your child is likely to make new friends along the way. They will develop positive associations with exercise.

Course Description: Contemporary dance is a blend for the technically trained dancer; some describe it as a release from both modern and jazz. Contemporary dance is unique to the choreographer you decide to take from. Within each class you are guaranteed an emotional release as much as a technical push of your abilities as a dancer. This movement tells a story, compelling dancers to connect movement with emotion.

This is what being a "triple threat" means. And it's just so much fun!

HOT MAMA'S (Adult Dance)
Course Description: All encompassing adult class combing fitness, hip hop and sexy heels. We switch it up week to week so adults can gain experience in different styles. Typically a beg class, but more advanced adults are welcome.
What is heels? Heels will incorporate genres of pop, jazz, grooves and hip hop! This class can be done with or without heels (heels recommended) and it puts a strong emphasis on musicality and interpretation of the music and its rhythm. It's also a little.. sexy.

Course Description: This is an advanced level class. Tap dance is a type of dance characterized by using the sounds of tap shoes striking the floor as a form of percussion. The sound is made by shoes that have a metal "tap" on the heel and toe. Rhythm tap focuses on musicality, and helps students learn coordination and isolation.

Course Description: This is an 8 week Fall session only. (Tuition is a one time payment (not monthly) In dance, choreography is the act of designing dance. A choreographer is one who creates dances. Dance choreography is sometimes called dance composition. Aspects of dance choreography include the compositional use of organic unity, rhythmic or non-rhythmic articulation, theme and variation, and repetition. Students learn how to put routines together with movement and costume under the supervision and guidance of Heather Van Arsdel
