Tap classes develop skills in rhythmicity, counting of music, balance, and coordination, while providing a great source of feedback for dancers to learn through hearing their feet move! This is a great option for dancers looking to expand their dance skill set and branch out from the Ballet, Jazz, and Hip Hop styles. Dancers will be required to wear tap shoes for these classes.

DE Dance Ability Bridging Steps (JAZZ)
A class designed for returning Dance Ability dancers, ages 9+, who wish to focus on developing their Ballet/Jazz technique.  These dancers do not necessarily need a 1:1 volunteer buddy, but benefit from having peer models in the class to learn from and develop age-appropriate social relationships.  Dancers will learn technique and skills based on the C.D.T.A. syllabus.  Typically dancers registering for this class have been referred by their OT from The Dance Ability Movement or are looking for a new dance style to participate in other than the standard "Dance Ability Hip Hop" classes.

Freestyle opportunities to develop self-expression and confidence are a key component of this class. This is a great upbeat class focused on fun and participation!

Previous experience in a Dance Ability class preferred but not mandatory. This class is focused on technique and will not be in recital.

This is for NEW Dancers at The Dance Workshop Alliston who are signing up for a Dance Ability class that is being offered by Colleen Brinston at The Dance Workshop!

This is a required initial OT intake assessment and report to participate in the program - to enhance safety and support in the class for each dancer.

$145.00 to be paid to The Dance Ability Movement for OT services including
- $35 Registration Fee
- $110 Initial OT Intake Assessment and Report

Let's Dance! Each afternoon will be filled with a variety of dance styles, music, and movement! Dancers will use the Elements of Dance throughout the afternoon to explore movement and connect with each other. The focus will be Fun, Fitness, and Friends! Classes will be lead by Mallory & Jade, and potentially some guest instructors as well. No experience required, but a love for music and movement. Dancers will perform choreography learned at the end of the week for their showcase.

A new class for dancers ages 8+ with 1:1 volunteer buddies as needed, designed to introduce dancers to a variety of dance styles throughout the summer, to develop an understanding and appreciation for the vast genres of dance out there! Dancers will participate in the following styles of dance (2 classes in each style for a total of 8 weeks): Jazz, Ballet, Musical Theatre and Lyrical. The class will combine technique, learning short choreography combinations, and freestyle opportunities integrating music related to each genre to develop self-expression and confidence. A great class for dancers looking to explore different genres of dance who do not necessarily need the consistency of routine from week to week. *Previous dance experience not required but is an asset to ensure dancers are comfortable with studio environment and flexibility of class structure.*

JLSD Set the Stage Camp
This morning camp is dedicated to pre-school and school age children preparing for school in the fall. Children will have opportunities to develop both Fine & Gross Motor Skills through the use of dance and the Handwriting Without Tears Program. Occupational Therapists will provide direct support to enhance your child’s pre-printing and/or printing abilities. A great way to practice school skills over the summer in a fun and motivating environment!

JLSD Dancing Through Life Camp
This half-day camp is dedicated to teens and young adults who love to move and are looking to develop skills in relationship-building, healthy living, and self-confidence through the shared experience of dance. Dancers will create and organize a showcase including their own choreography to perform at the end of the week.
