Teen Broadway Dance
(Ages 13-18) This fast-paced class geared towards teens will accommodate both those with prior dance experience and those who may be new to dance. The goal of the class is to introduce the language of jazz and musical theatre movement while teaching positions, dance vocabulary, good technique, body placement, and musicality. In addition, focus will be placed on expression and interpretation. This class is perfect for the teen Musical Theatre student looking to further their skills in both dance and performance.

OutProv
A.C.T.'s OutProv is an improv group for LGBTQ+ teens and allies that are interested in theatre and social change. The members of OutProv will hone their skills in improvisational theatre in a safe-space environment where teacher-facilitators will also guide them through discussion of LGBTQ+ issues, train them as peer leaders, and develop an outreach curriculum to bring to after-school programs.
The program meets on Monday evenings at the Academy of The Company Theatre from 7 to 8:30 PM, starting October 15th. Annual dues are $50.

BROADWAY MUSICAL WORKSHOP is your chance to learn from professional performers and guest artists on how to pick up dance routines quickly, stand out and be heard on stage! This class offers advanced education in dance, voice and acting through putting it all together via the biggest and best moments from Broadway past and present. This class will perform a mini-revue at the end of the program based on the shows students have studied during the course. Offered exclusively at Studio One at the Company Theatre! (Ages 10-18) This class, geared towards children and teens 10 years and up, will teach students the poses and language of yoga to build better body awareness, breath control, flexibility, strength, and mindfulness. The A.C.T. Contemporaries - Level 2
(Ages 7-18) The A.C.T. Contemporaries are a dance company that will create a performance piece together to be performed on The Company Theatre's mainstage with lights and costumes. The company members will work together with the Director to choose styles, music, choreography, characters and more--this is a class about honing skills and building technique through creativity and self-expression!
The company has a focus on performance, fun and expression, not competition, and will explore basic techniques of many styles of dance, including jazz, modern, ballet, improvisation, ballroom and partnered dance, and Broadway-style dance.
No Dance experience necessary. We encourage actors, movers, musicians, and artists of all kinds. Auditions will place members into appropriate levels based on their ability.

The goal of this class is to introduce and practice the basic techniques of tap dance; rhythm, body mechanics, and musicality or sound. Students will learn the most common Broadway tap steps and enhance their musicality through rhythm tap exercises and improvisational tap.
A tap shoe has only two taps, so every tap step can be broken down to its simplest form, a toe, a heel, or a combination of the two. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced tapper there is always room for improvement, this class is a great place to learn or refine while creating movement and music!

Students will learn the language of both modern and classic Broadway choreographers such as Fosse, Glover and Robbins. Specialized techniques such as tap and partner dance will also be explored. Students should provide their own dance shoes (tap and jazz).

Acting Through Roleplaying Games
(Ages 10-16).Have you ever imagined yourself a knight going into a dark dungeon to defeat a fire breathing dragon? How about a freedom fighter struggling against the oppression of a ruthless Empire? Or a normal person stepping into a house filled with an assortment of horror and monsters? Then this is the class for you! In this class we will learn about and play various games involving roleplaying. We will learn about the importance of improvisational and long term character development as well as team building, working together (or at times against each other), and staying in character/character commitment, and we get to play fun games too!

Audition Master Class with Logan Marks - Mark from RENT
Led by Logan Marks (RENT National Tour, Mark), this hands-on course is ideal for performers (ages 12-18) looking to improve their audition technique. It will give you the chance to hone your audition skills, gain confidence, and present your best self to an industry professional who will give you personal feedback. There will also be a Q&A with Logan about his professional experience. Please come with either a one minute monologue or 16-32 bars of a musical theatre audition piece prepared, along with the sheet music.

(Ages 13+) Pour yourself a hot beverage and come draw with us in Life Drawing! Working with each student at their own level, we will cover basic shapes and proportion up through various shading techniques, mediums, and stylistic choices. This class will take occasional "field-trips" to sit in on the dance classes of the Academy of the Company Theatre. Sketching figures in motion is an excellent way to exercise you eye and improve your sense of scale and movement. This class is open to adults and high school students (younger folks with special permission).

Shakespeare/Speech and Dialect
(Ages 12-18) Two classes in one! For the first six weeks, students will discover that The Bard can be fun in Shakespeare for Teens! Using scenes, monologues and the Shakespearean Insults game, we explore the bawdy, funny, action-packed side of Shakespeare. You'll learn how to get the meaning across to a modern audience, and discover why these amazing plays are still relevant after 400 years.
The last six weeks of the class is Speech and Dialect: Want to learn how to speak in a specific accent? This is the class for you! This class will cover various dialects for the stage as well as proper vocal technique useful in auditions and the rehearsal process. Students will explore accents regional to the U.S. and abroad through short scenes and monologues.

The final week will have students review with both instructors what they've learned for the Spring Showcase performance.

For the beginning adult performer, or those returning to the stage after a hiatus, this class will focus on the core principles of scenework, monologues, projection, diction, characterization, physicality, and emoting. Audition preparation will also be covered. Class dates are: April 4th, 11th, 16th, 25th, May 2nd and 9th.

Advanced Broadway Dance
(Ages 10-18) A special multi-disciplinary class for students with dance experience who want to dive deeper into techniques featured in Broadway dance. Students will learn the language of both modern and classic Broadway choreographers such as Fosse, Glover and Robbins. Specialized techniques such as tap and partner dance will also be explored. Students should provide their own dance shoes (tap and jazz).

This course will focus on the learning best practices for maximum enjoyment and success in the art of singing. Students will be challenged by mastering a vast array of repertoire, learning care of their personal instrument, developing their best singing technique, learning ensemble awareness, relative pitch, and many more practices that will propel them toward being the very best vocalist they can be, regardless of their chosen vocal pursuits. Repertoire will be drawn from a wide variety of styles, allowing students to glean lessons from each, in order to create a greater awareness of their own expansive vocal capabilities. Not all repertoire will be distributed at the beginning of the course, as it will be selected to reflect the needs of the attendants.

(Ages 8-14) The joy of singing is the focus on this class for young singers as they learn how their body functions as a musical instrument and are taught basic singing skills. Students will become more confident as they develop their unique sound, vocal range and begin the path to becoming a good musician. Keeping the voice healthy and growing is a key component of this class. While most of the repertoire will be group songs, there will be opportunities throughout the session to work on solo material.

(Ages 5-7) For our youngest students, this class uses pretend play, music and character work to help little children learn how to speak clearly, sing, move their bodies with confidence, and play with emotion, story and character. Class time will be divided up into time spent working on rhythm and music, acting, movement, and games.

Center Stage 2
(Ages 10-14) Center Stage classes are comprehensive introductions to the techniques and skills needed to have fun and succeed in musical theatre. Students will be guided through a curriculum of instruction in acting, singing, music theory, and movement. Each class will divided up into mini vocal, dance and acting lessons that will include fun activities taught by two or more instructors.
Students will also receive coaching in the art of auditioning.

This class is a continuation of the basic techniques covered in Center Stage 1B. Students may enroll upon graduation from that course, or by permission of the instructors.

Acting Through Roleplaying Games
(Ages 10-16).Have you ever imagined yourself a knight going into a dark dungeon to defeat a fire breathing dragon? How about a freedom fighter struggling against the oppression of a ruthless Empire? Or a normal person stepping into a house filled with an assortment of horror and monsters? Then this is the class for you! In this class we will learn about and play various games involving roleplaying. We will learn about the importance of improvisational and long term character development as well as team building, working together (or at times against each other), and staying in character/character commitment, and we get to play fun games too!
