Meets for Four Weeks (7/22-8/12)
This adult dance class is for beginner to intermediate dancers. The goal of the class is to teach the language and steps of jazz and Broadway dance focusing on performance, musicality, expression and interpretation. Each session involves a jazz warm-up, across the floor exercises, and learning a choreographed dance in the Broadway style to a musical theatre song.

Meets for four weeks--Classes are 1.5 hours.
With special attention paid to the musical theater style, this class will work through common tap technique, progressions, and combinations. This class offers adults (and teens) the basic techniques of tap dance; rhythm, body mechanics, and musicality or sound. Students must bring their own tap shoes.

(Ages 13-19) In this class, teens will rehearse and refine their performances of songs from classic and modern musical theatre for a cabaret night on The Company Theatre stage! Emphasis will be placed on capturing character and setting without the use of sets and costumes. Students should prepare for the four-week program by coming in with song choices prepared.

(For Teens and Adults) Starting with the premise that every song tells a story, students will learn how to use just the right amount of character and movement to make their vocal performance a theatrical experience--without sacrificing vocal quality. Warm-up techniques, good vocal practices, and character analysis will also be a part of the learning process. Students should come with two prepared songs in contrasting styles (they do not need to be memorized).

(For Teens and Adults) Perfect to prepare for a wedding, as a fun thing to do on a date, for exercise, or just for fun, this four week program offers an overview of the basics of ballroom dance for beginner and intermediate level dancers. Lead and follow techniques will be covered for all genders. The class will cover a wide variety of ballroom styles, including the waltz, the foxtrot, the tango, swing, Latin dances including salsa, and more. Partners not required.

(Ages 8 to 12) This class will meet Monday and Wednesday mornings for four weeks. This course, suitable for beginner and intermediate level dancers, will hone technical skills while fostering musicality in a variety of styles, including modern, jazz, ballet, improvisational dance, and even tap. Students will also get to explore the fundamentals of choreographing their own pieces as they work towards a final ensemble performance at the last class for friends and family. Perfect for the student interested in musical theatre who wants to gain more proficiency in Broadway-style movement.

(For teens and adults) For many actors, the dance call inspires feelings of dread. You've nailed your vocal audition, impressed the director with your cold reading--but you're terrified the choreographer will notice your two left feet. This class, specifically geared towards self-proclaimed non-dancers, will provide a crash course in terminology and technique frequently seen at musical theatre auditions. Each class will conclude with a mock dance call to give you opportunities to practice picking things up quickly--and help squash your fears.

Teen Acting Intensive and Repertoire

(Ages 14-19) For the serious acting student! This intensive meets twice a week for two hours from July 23rd through August 1st and then Monday through Thursday in the third week. Class time will be split between honing advanced acting techniques, studying must-know repertoire, and rehearsing a play for an end of workshop performance. Previous acting experience is recommended for all students enrolling in this course.
