This class is a fusion of ballet technique in combination with the athletic and expressive contemporary dance form. With a focus on ballet technique, French terminology, and proper alignment, the dancers explore ballet barre work, across the floor progressions, and center work. In connection with this classical form we fuse Contemporary dance concepts such as improvisation, and dance composition elements to move in a even more emotive and athletic way. This class will be performing in the recital at the end of the session in May or early June (recital date will be set as soon as possible). Beginning Ballet (ages 5-8 years) is a fun way to learn the basics of ballet with a balance of creative movement games and structured learning. As a dance form Ballet encourages proper technique, posture, and muscular strength. Dancers are introduced to the positions and names of dance steps, basic French terminology, and musicality. Ballet provides an understanding of dance terminology, which is used in other forms of dance. This class is the next progression from Pre-Ballet & Tap combo or for those brand new to dance class. Musical Theatre / Jazz I (7-11 yrs) is a high-energy form of dance grounded in Jazz dance terminology and technique with an emphasis on musicality, performance, athleticism and lots of fun! Using popular music we explore rhythm, style, and performance elements found in Musical Theatre Dance and Jazz Dance Traditions. Singing along is not a requirement but is encouraged!) This class is perfect for dancers progressing from the Beginning level Hip Hop/Jazz class or who are new to dance and excited about growing as performers! Registration is for the whole session from Aug 12th to Dec 21st and the semester culminates in an informal showing at the studio.

This 90 min class is for the more experienced dancer and is a style of dance that is a fusion of modern, ballet, and jazz traditions blended together in a athletic and expressive way. Classical lines, mixed with inversions, improvisation, and dance composition are explored in this class. Registration is for the whole session from Aug 12th to Dec 21st and the semester culminates in an informal showing at the studio.

($150 for 10 punch card) This class is a 10 punch card class for beginners as well as the experienced dancer and is a high-energy class grounded in Jazz Dance terminology and blended together with the Contemporary virtuosity and fluidity. Rhythm and an exploration of style are also explored in this class, with an emphasis on musicality, performance, athleticism and lots of fun!! To attend this class please purchase a 10 punch card for $150 which expires in Dec 2020 or come to the studio and pay a single drop in class for $17.25. Although you are enrolling in a specific adult class to purchase the punch card online you can also attend the Adult/Teen Ballet class from 7-8:30pm on Tuesdays, or the 2:45-3:45 Beginning Adult/Teen Tap class on Saturdays! Often a student’s first experience with dance we focus on promoting creativity and self-confidence as well as coordination and spatial awareness. We sing and dance around the space, learn to take turns and work with others, as well as learn to skip, jump and balance! Rhythm and listening to the sounds of our tap shoes brush, hop, and ball-change keeps the class engaging and fun! Please be sure dancers are potty trained before enrolling! These two forms are also blended together with the graceful and elegant form of Ballet. All together this promotes self-confidence, body awareness, and coordination with a well-rounded taste for multiple dance forms! This class is the next progression from Pre-Ballet & Tap combo or for those brand new to dance class. ($150 for 10 punch card) This class is a 10 punch card class for beginners as well as the more experienced dancer and concentrates on classical ballet training, the development of a strong understanding of French terminology and proper execution of the technical elements, all while ensuring proper alignment. The cultivation of technical strength, clarity, musicality, flexibility and artistry are explored. Pirouettes, adagio combinations, petite and grande allegro combinations are explored in this class.
To attend this class please purchase a 10 punch card for $150 which expires on Dec 2020 or come to the studio and pay a single drop in class for $17.25. Although you are enrolling in a specific adult class to purchase the punch card online you can also attend the Adult Contemporary Jazz Dance on Mondays from 8-9pm, or the Adult/Teen Beg Tap class from 2:45-3:45 on Saturdays! Tip Toes & Rainbows is a creative movement dance class for ages 3-5 years. This class is a perfect choice for students new to dance! Dancers twirl, hop and leap through space with the help of dance props, fairy tales and nursery rhymes. This class is a progression from Ballet/Contemporary I offered on Tuesdays and moves at a faster pace with more difficult combinations, for the more experienced dancer. With a focus on ballet technique, French terminology, and proper alignment, the dancers explore ballet barre work, across the floor progressions, and center work. In connection with this classical form we fuse Contemporary dance concepts such as improvisation and dance composition elements to move in a even more emotive and athletic way. Registration is for the whole session from Jan 16th to June 5th and the semester culminates in an informal showing at the studio.

reVel dance Ensemble (11-18yrs) - Wed 7:00-9:00pm - Fall
This is a 2 hour class that meets once a week and is a non-audition based group that performs in outreach events for reVel dance center in and around Erie, and in 1-2 dance competitions during the spring (costs listed are only for tuition and not based on costume fees or competition fees). This Ensemble provides a feel for what a dance company is like by learning repertory pieces in Jazz, Contemporary, and Ballet, among other dance forms. The focus is to work together with support, rigor, and a sense of camaraderie. Please commit for the full Spring semesters to be a part of this ensemble. It is recommended, but not required, for the reVel Dance Ensemble to take Ballet III/IV Pre-Pointe/Pointe offered on and Thursdays to compliment and further their training. Registration is for the whole session from Aug 14th to Dec 18th.

Tap encourages development of musicality and promotes coordination and rhythm and Jazz is high energy and focuses on body isolations, jumps, and turns. These two forms are also blended together with the graceful and elegant form of Ballet. All together this promotes self-confidence, body awareness, and coordination with a well-rounded taste for multiple dance forms! This class is the next progression for students who have already taken Beg. Ballet, Beg. Dance Medley, Beg Hip Hop & Jazz, or Beg Tap & Jazz. Registration is for the whole session from Aug 15th to Dec 19th and the semester culminates in an informal showing at the studio.

Ballet III/IV Pre-Pointe & Pointe (11-18yrs) - Thurs 6:00pm-7:30pm - Fall
This class concentrates on classical ballet training, the development of a strong understanding of French terminology and proper execution of the technical elements, all while ensuring proper alignment. Familiarity with the standard ballet class sequence and respect for classroom etiquette are prerequisites. The cultivation of technical strength, clarity, musicality, flexibility and artistry are explored. Pirouettes in all positions, and increasingly difficult turning and jumping movements will be explored as the session progresses. A portion of the class is focused on developing the pre-requisite strength and awareness for Pointe Technique. This class may have a combination of dancers with soft shoes, Pre-Pointe, and on Pointe dancers with modifications given to suit the needs of the students.

Students will move up to Pointe shoes only at the discretion of the teacher once they have mastered the ballet basics and have developed the appropriate strength with the min. age of 11 yrs. old. Registration is for the whole session from Aug 17th to Dec 19th and the session ends with an informal in studio showing.

This class is for students new to ballet or those that are returning to dance after a break and need a refresher course on the form. Registration is for the whole session from Aug 16th to Dec 20th and there is an informal in-studio showing at the end of the session.

This is a tap class is for 7 to 11 yr olds with a focus on learning basic tap technique and terminology and putting them together in exciting combinations using high-energy music. For the more practiced dancer we focus on increasing speed while tapping, more intricate rhythmic patterns, and developing style.

Technique Intensive- Turns, Leaps, Extensions (11-18yrs) - Sat 1:00pm-2:30pm - Fall
Dance requires strength, flexibility, grace, coordination…among other skills!) In this 90 min class through a hybrid of different dance techniques such as Ballet, Jazz, and Contemporary we focus on further developing each dancer's abilities. This class also incorporates Pilates, yoga, floor barre, resistance band exercises, and somatic approaches, to increase flexibility, strength, and the development of proper hip rotation. Dancers will develop proper balance and execution of turns, as well as develop the control and strength for optimal extensions. This class will help students take their dance training to a new level! This class will be performing in the recital at the end of the session in May or early June (recital date will be set as soon as possible).
