A class for our younger dancers, ages 3-6 with 1:1 volunteer buddies, introducing dancers to dance and creative movement. Use of sing-along style songs, props, and activities such as parachute, mats, and hula-hoops may be incorporated into class structure to facilitate participation and encourage movement opportunities. Dancers will be introduced to Ballet basics while also incorporating up-beat music and freestyle opportunities!

DE KIDS/TEENS HIP HOP CLASS
A class for dancers ages 7+ with 1:1 volunteer buddies as needed, designed to keep our kids, teens and young adults movin’ and groovin’! Class will be Hip Hop based, using upbeat music to get dancers active and energized! Freestyle opportunities to develop self-expression and confidence are a key component of this class. This class incorporates dance technique with fun and socialization with peers!

DE KIDS/TEENS MUSICAL THEATRE/BROADWAY CLASS *NEW*
A NEW style being offered for dancers who are interested in branching out and trying something different for the summer! This class will incorporate a variety of music from Musicals and Broadway Theatre Shows. Dancers will be introduced to lip-syncing, character development, facial expressions, and more! Designed for the dancers who love to belt out the lyrics to songs and showcase their stage-worthy moves!

Dance Days! - Summer Camp
Let's Dance! Each afternoon will be filled with a variety of dance styles, music, and movement! Dancers will use the Elements of Dance throughout the afternoon to explore movement and connect with each other. The focus will be Fun, Fitness, and Friends! Classes will be lead by Mallory & Jade, and potentially some guest instructors as well. No experience required, but a love for music and movement. Dancers will perform choreography learned at the end of the week for their showcase.

JLSD HIP HOP CLASS
A new class for dancers ages 8+ with 1:1 volunteer buddies as needed, designed to introduce dancers to a variety of dance styles throughout the summer, to develop an understanding and appreciation for the vast genres of dance out there! Dancers will participate in the following styles of dance (2 classes in each style for a total of 8 weeks): Jazz, Ballet, Musical Theatre and Lyrical. The class will combine technique, learning short choreography combinations, and freestyle opportunities integrating music related to each genre to develop self-expression and confidence. A great class for dancers looking to explore different genres of dance who do not necessarily need the consistency of routine from week to week. *Previous dance experience not required but is an asset to ensure dancers are comfortable with studio environment and flexibility of class structure.*

JLSD TEENS/YOUNG ADULTS HIP HOP CLASS
A class for dancers typically aged 13+ with 1:1 volunteer buddies as needed, designed to keep our teens and young adults movin’ and groovin’! Classes are focused on Hip Hop style, teaching dancers to move in different ways and appreciate a multitude of music styles and quality. Freestyle opportunities to develop self-expression and confidence are a key component of this class. This class incorporates dance technique with fun and socialization with peers!

JLSD Set the Stage Camp
This morning camp is dedicated to pre-school and school age children preparing for school in the fall. Children will have opportunities to develop both Fine & Gross Motor Skills through the use of dance and the Handwriting Without Tears Program. Occupational Therapists will provide direct support to enhance your child’s pre-printing and/or printing abilities. A great way to practice school skills over the summer in a fun and motivating environment!

JLSD Dancing Through Life Camp
This half-day camp is dedicated to teens and young adults who love to move and are looking to develop skills in relationship-building, healthy living, and self-confidence through the shared experience of dance. Dancers will create and organize a showcase including their own choreography to perform at the end of the week.
