Beg./Intermediate Progressing Ballet Technique
Jennifer Gray
A Progressing Ballet Technique class for RAD Grades 3+ or ages 11 - adult. This class is required for grades 3 & 4 and is included with their tuition.
Please contact the studio if you would like to take this class but are not in RAD classes.
This level introduces the most basic of exercises triggering muscle memory to control posture with engaged abs. Important to all dancers wanting to minimize injury, they find the muscles that control turnout from the tops of the legs rather than crank a false turnout from the feet.
Per PBT website: "Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) is an innovative body-conditioning and strengthening program developed by Marie Walton-Mahon for students to understand the depth of training muscle memory in achieving their personal best. One of the important elements used in the PBT method is muscle memory which helps to improve students' understanding of core stability, weight placement and alignment. Each exercise in the PBT program has been developed with care and guidance by Marie Walton-Mahon along with a team of physiotherapists."
Wear class leotard or comfortable clothes to work out in.

Academie de Ballet Classique’s RAD VOCATIONAL INTERMEDIATE FOUNDATION - an RAD preparation course works towards mastery of the challenging choreography of the RAD’s Vocational level exercises and variations. Dancers work towards a goal of achieving a high level of skill and quality. What does all that mean? It means students work towards more than learning the steps, instead they acquire a mastery and artistry of the work to a level that progresses easily to the RAD Vocational Intermediate levels.
With the ballet vocabulary learned in the lower graded levels, dancers increase their ballet knowledge to a high degree along with a more stylized approach. Some enchainements and all of the dances are performed as solos, building confidence with big smiles at the achievements made.
As the only school in Central Oregon providing Royal Academy of Dance programs, we help students reach their personal best through careful instruction.
Learning Outcomes and Progression Assessments for Vocational Intermediate are:
apply and demonstrate sound knowledge and understanding of the mechanics and purpose of ballet vocabulary
respond to and interpret direction correctly
demonstrate strength, stamina, and a disciplined approach in a range of technical movement skills
with a challenging level of choreographic demand
demonstrate a clear understanding of a range of rhythmical sounds, accents and timings
demonstrate a clear understanding of musical interpretation with a challenging level of choreographic demand

Intermediate/Advanced Progressing Ballet Technique
Jennifer Gray
A Progressing Ballet Technique class for RAD Vocational levels or RAD Grade 8. This class is required for grade 8, Intermediate Foundation & Adv.1 and is included with their tuition.
Open to teens & adult taking intermediate or advanced levels of dance.
Please contact the studio if you would like to take this class but are not in RAD classes. Tuition will depend on how often you will be taking the class, please contact the studio.
