This fantasy-themed ballet class is designed to cultivate your child's creativity, individuality and artistry while discovering ballet terminology and culture of discipline. At Académie de Ballet Classique, we pride ourselves on using age-appropriate activities and goals as dictated by the LeapNLearn program.
Ballet develops independence, confidence while enjoying meaningful learning. We accomplish meaningful learning through demonstration, assistance and encouragement.
Skills worked on in class:
*Children turn gross motor skills into ballet movement, demi-plies (knee bends) with secured postures, battements tendus look beautiful with stretched legs and feet.
*Sautés are still 2 feet to 2 feet with the addition of echappés to 2nd (little jumps from feet together to apart)
*Move with increased control, coordination and confidence using 3 basic ballet positions of the feet (1st, 2nd & 3rd).
*Gain greater awareness of the body with an understanding of how to move through space, leaping with lightness, and stretching feet more consistently
*Demonstrate a developing sensitivity to music through movement - listening to music and dancing in concert with the musical mood

Any dancer wishing to expand their repertory and dance vocabulary should take this exciting dance class. This class is suited for those with prior experience in Lyrical + Jazz dance stylings or those currently at the RAD Grade 2 or above ballet level.
Those new to ABC will need approval of instructor.
The broad range of Lyrical and Contemporary Dance styles takes dancers from yesterday’s classical styles to today’s contemporary dance forms. To fully enjoy Ms. Alesa’s Lyrical and Contemporary dance classes, we recommend dancer have some prior dance experience.

Any dancer wishing to expand their repertory and dance vocabulary should take this exciting dance class. This class is suited for those with prior experience in Lyrical + Jazz dance stylings or those currently at the RAD Grade 2 or above ballet level.
Those new to ABC will need approval of instructor.
The broad range of Lyrical and Contemporary Dance styles takes dancers from yesterday’s classical styles to today’s contemporary dance forms. To fully enjoy Ms. Alesa’s Lyrical and Contemporary dance classes, we recommend dancer have some prior dance experience.

Class work encompasses a wide variety of choreography beyond classical ballet. Learn secret tricks and enjoy clever tips to setting dances. Practice the art of choreography as well as performing before an audience with a new level of communicating to audiences.
When time and circumstances allow, guest artists may set pieces on the Vocational Group, giving even more variety to this special ability level.
At the beginning of the year, students receive a schedule of three to five performances with the pledge to 90% attendance as part of this class.
This class will have two groups alternating weeks:
Group 1: Grades 2 - 4 in dance and/or intermediate contemporary
Group 2: Vocational dancers/intermediate contemporary and above.
By alternate weekly, groups study with dancers at their level. Costumes provided by studio and remain as part of our costume inventory.

Fantasy Ballet (Thu)

Children are delighted to dance through all of the magical places while using their newly learned ballet steps. This fantasy-themed ballet class is designed to cultivate your child's creativity, individuality and artistry while discovering ballet terminology and culture of discipline. At Academie de Ballet Classique we pride ourselves on using age-appropriate activities and goals as dictated by the Royal Academy of Dance.
Ballet develops independence, confidence and while enjoying meaningful learning. We accomplish meaningful learning through demonstration, assistance and encouragement.
Skills worked on in class:
*Children turn gross motor skills into ballet movement, demi-plies (knee bends) with secured postures, battements tendus look beautiful with stretched legs and feet.
*Sautés are still 2 feet to 2 feet with the addition of echappés to 2nd (little jumps from feet together to apart)
*Move with increased control, coordination and confidence using 3 basic ballet positions of the feet (1st, 2nd & 3rd).
*Gain greater awareness of the body with an understanding of how to move through space, leaping with lightness, and stretching feet more consistently
*Demonstrate a developing sensitivity to music through movement - listening to music and dancing in concert with the musical mood
*Express feelings and emotions through movement introduces performance and communicating with an audience.
Tuition includes a prop kit. Extras are divided up into 10 equal payments. If a dancer drops the class mid-year; they will be charged for the balance owed on props. Late joiners may have a "catch up fee" to cover prop items.

This fantasy-themed ballet class is designed to cultivate your child's creativity, individuality and artistry while discovering ballet terminology and culture of discipline. At Academie de Ballet Classique we pride ourselves on using age-appropriate activities and goals as dictated by the Royal Academy of Dance.
Ballet develops independence, confidence and while enjoying meaningful learning. We accomplish meaningful learning through demonstration, assistance and encouragement.
Skills worked on in class:
*Children turn gross motor skills into ballet movement, demi-plies (knee bends) with secured postures, battements tendus look beautiful with stretched legs and feet.
*Sautés are still 2 feet to 2 feet with the addition of echappés to 2nd (little jumps from feet together to apart)
*Move with increased control, coordination and confidence using 3 basic ballet positions of the feet (1st, 2nd & 3rd).
*Gain greater awareness of the body with an understanding of how to move through space, leaping with lightness, and stretching feet more consistently

*Move with increased control, coordination and confidence using 3 basic ballet positions of the feet (1st, 2nd & 3rd).
*Gain greater awareness of the body with an understanding of how to move through space, leaping with lightness, and stretching feet more consistently
*Demonstrate a developing sensitivity to music through movement - listening to music and dancing in concert with the musical mood

RAD Grade one and two of eight RAD grades (ages 8-11) Each level develops skills and performance ability built on prior levels. Challenging and encouraging dancers in each class.
Grade 1 & 2 in Dance suits the elementary aged child to build confidence, stamina, and coordination for all forms of dance and sport. Children work together and individually in fascinating dances and exercises that progress weekly.
