Pointe 2
Dancing on pointe is considered to be a very advanced ballet skill and should only be done under strict supervision, as pointe work can be dangerous if attempted too early or with poor instruction. Most children do not have sufficient bone structure and development or muscular strength to allow a safe inclusion of pointe work until they are at least 11 years old. Many girls strongly anticipate their desire to wear pointe shoes but it is imperative that they remain patient and diligent in their work if they want to eventually go en pointe.
Dancers in ballet level 6 and up may dance en pointe at BDTS upon passing a rigorous pointe eligibility test before beginning pointe work.

Students will continue to work on monologues and will get in-depth feedback on their scenes performed in class.

Have you ever considered working in the TV/Film industry? Getting an agent? Then this is the class for you. Students will learn the difference between theatre and acting for the camera. Primary focus is on method acting and learning the basics of Meisner and Stanislavski technique. Students will work on: commercials, scene study, monologues, hosting, newscasting...all on camera. Students are filmed every class so they may see their work. This course also covers the business side of acting: how to get an agent, resumes, headshots, unions and more.
