This class is an "intro to acro" for young dancers ages 5-7. Recreational Level with a Performance in the Season Finale Show! AcroDance is a style of Acrobatics used specifically for dancers. It is a genre of dance which seamlessly fuses elements of lyrical gymnastics tricks, balancing, tumbling, and jazz. Students learn Acrobatic tricks such as handstands, cartwheels, chest stands, elbow stands, walkovers, side and front aerials and tumbling lines. Trick movements are usually executed slowly to emphasize gracefulness, body lines and picturesque extension. AcroDance offers more depth and variety to choreography and creates a much more versatile dancer. To master an AcroDance trick, students must develop a good foundation of strength and flexibility, thus emphasis is placed on extensive conditioning and stretch and strength training. When students are learning new tricks, the instructor utilizes professional spotting techniques; which is necessary to ensure safety and build confidence.

Broadway tap focuses on dance; it is widely performed in musical theater. Rhythm tap focuses on musicality and practitioners consider themselves to be a part of the jazz tradition. The sound is made by shoes that have a metal "tap" on the heel and toe. There are different brands of shoes which sometimes differ in the way they sound.

Sign Up Here to participate in the dancing portion of the Fat Cat Parade. Parade is June 8th in Kelowna. Dancers must be at least 9 years of age to participate. There will be two group practices scheduled for the week prior to the parade. Depending on numbers costume tops may be provided, or we may request you wear a certain colour. Students will also need to provide their own solid black leggings or shorts and black runners.

DANCE FORCE MINI AUDITION
REGISTRATION FEE: $20 will be applied to your Dance Force Mini Registration (non-transferable towards other programs, non-refundable). DANCE FORCE MINI This team is for dancers ages 5 - 9 who want to compete locally. Dancers will audition for placement into set groups. Each group will work together for the year on three competitive group routines. The team will compete at two local competitions yearly, plus the season finale show! This team is a great way to get ready for the upper level teams, while exploring multiple dance styles! What to Expect: 3 hours of class per week The classes include four 45 minute classes in Ballet, Acro, Jazz, and Hip Hop Attendance at two local competitions Performance in the Season Finale Show! Dancers must purchase their own Dance Force Mini Team Jacket Dancers will have the opportunity to compete with a solo, duet, or trio, at the teacher's discretion (additional fees apply, offers go out in October) Entry fees for competitions, and costume rental fees (dancers are not expected to purchase the costumes, but they are to be rented from the studio)

Hip Hop 1/2 - 12 Week
This class is an "intro to hip hop" for young dancers ages 6 - 9. The kids will learn new "moves" all while having fun and playing dance based games. Hip-hop dance refers to street dance styles primarily performed to hip-hop music or that have evolved as part of hip-hop culture. It includes a wide range of styles primarily breaking, locking, and popping which were created in the 1970s and made popular by dance crews in the United States.

Hip-hop dance refers to street dance styles primarily performed to hip-hop music or that have evolved as part of hip-hop culture. It includes a wide range of styles primarily breaking, locking, and popping which were created in the 1970s and made popular by dance crews in the United States.

Acro 1/2 - 12 Week
This class is an "intro to acro" for young dancers ages 5-8. AcroDance is a style of Acrobatics used specifically for dancers. It is a genre of dance which seamlessly fuses elements of lyrical gymnastics tricks, balancing, tumbling, and jazz. Students learn Acrobatic tricks such as handstands, cartwheels, chest stands, elbow stands, walkovers, side and front aerials and tumbling lines. Trick movements are usually executed slowly to emphasize gracefulness, body lines and picturesque extension. AcroDance offers more depth and variety to choreography and creates a much more versatile dancer. To master an AcroDance trick, students must develop a good foundation of strength and flexibility, thus emphasis is placed on extensive conditioning and stretch and strength training. When students are learning new tricks, the instructor utilizes professional spotting techniques; which is necessary to ensure safety and build confidence.

Ages 2-3! Our pre dance classes focus on the basics of dance. The kids work basic motor skills associated with dance, learn little acro tricks, as well as sing and dance to their favorite nursery rhymes. This class is super fun and will leave them asking when they can come to dance again!
