Luminosity Dance Collective is a dance company for adults in Lawrence, KS.
Luminosity is seeking to bring light and love into the Lawrence community and surrounding areas through creative and inspiring movement that brightens the outlook of dance for members and LDC supporters.
The LDC difference?
If you are interested in adult dance classes but do not wish to perform, opting out of the performance company is an option for any LDC member!
Illuminating the community through dance will be a collaborative effort, so members will not be expected to merely sit back and learn choreography from directors.
However, members can contribute to the creative process as much or as little as they'd like- whatever illuminates their lives the best.
Members will be encouraged but not required to create choreography, present show ideas, and help inspire one another through dance.
After placement & casting from beginner to advanced, LDC will consult all company members to create a rehearsal and training schedule that works for everyone!
While our focus is on contemporary, hip hop, & heels- we will train, explore and perform various styles! Members can choose the styles in which they would like to participate.
LDC plans to book both volunteer-based and professional performance gigs and will compensate participating performers for each professional+paid event.
Members who would like to solely learn+train in classes but wish to opt out of performing+collaborating will have a small yearly membership fee due before the first class they attend.
This fee helps fund our performance efforts in lieu of the fundraising work the performance members undertake. All other classes will be complimentary for the year once paid.
Membership for performing and actively-collaborating members is completely free!

Student Choreo Auditions
Students ages 9+ are invited to audition student choreographed pieces to be considered for admittance into the spring recital show(s). Routines should be at least one minute long at auditions. Application forms for auditions must be filled out ASAP in order for students to secure their songs- to be sure the music is not already being used in our show.
Students should arrive early to warm up and stretch in the small studio. An audition order will be provided the morning of and once students have completed their audition, they are permitted to leave.
