Dance Combo II (age 4-5) classes are designed to encourage our youngest students to love dance. The curriculum focuses on coordination, motor skill development, listening skills, and creative expression, and introduces the concepts of warming up, stretching, and skill progression. They use activities and movements that enhance cognitive and social development. Students also learn classroom etiquette and are introduced to the relationship between movement, rhythm, and music. As with all our classes, our Dance Combo II curriculum integrates Christian principles and values as we share the joy of the Lord through the art of dance.

Ballet/Jazz I Duo classes introduce students to both classical ballet and jazz technique. Studying ballet will promote flexibility and muscular strength while emphasizing correct body placement. Students will also be instructed in a jazz warm-up with stretching, isolations, strengthening exercises, and across the floor exercises including turns and leaps. This class typically ends with a combination that is usually fast-paced and rhythmically based. Our classes use family-friendly music and modest dance moves to allow your child to experience this exciting dance form in a God-glorifying environment. Ballet IV/V
Ballet IV/V classes continue to expand students’ formal study of classical ballet which is foundational for all dance training. High intermediate ballet students will be instructed in barre work, centre floor work, and traveling steps in order to develop the essential techniques of balance, body control, and muscle memory. Ballet also promotes flexibility and muscular strength while emphasizing correct body placement. As with all our classes, our Ballet curriculum integrates Christian principles and values as we share the joy of the Lord through the art of dance.

Pointe classes are designed to train high intermediate and advanced ballet dancers for dancing en pointe. Pointe classes are taken in pointe shoes. Exercises will focus on foot, ankle, and leg muscle strength and flexibility as well as proper body alignment. Pointe work is undertaken when the student has developed a strong foundation of ballet technique and when the legs and feet are sufficiently developed.

Class Length: 45-75 min, depending on level
Class Requirements: Age 12+. Instructor approval and Pointe Readiness Assessment required. Prerequisite Ballet III. Minimum 3 ballet classes per week are required to participate en Pointe.
Dress Code: Black leotard, pink tights, and pink properly fitted pointe shoes (instructor must approve) are required. Hair pulled off the face and seemed neatly in a bun.

Beginner/Intermediate Tap (10+ yrs)
Beginner/Intermediate Tap (AGE 10+) classes include the fundamentals of tap dancing which is characterized by using the sounds of tap shoes striking the floor as a form of percussion. Two major variations on tap dance exist: rhythm (jazz) tap and Broadway tap. Broadway tap focuses on dance; it is widely performed in musical theater. Rhythm tap focuses on musicality, and practitioners consider themselves to be a part of the jazz tradition. This class will touch on both, and be a benefit to any theater student looking to broaden his or her training for use in productions. As with all our classes, our curriculum integrates Christian principles and values as we share the joy of the Lord through the art of dance.

It is a great technique to discover the joy of moving. Students warm-up with stretching, isolations, strengthening exercises, and across the floor exercises including turns and leaps. This class ends with a combination that is usually fast-paced and rhythmically based. Our jazz classes use family-friendly music and modest dance moves to allow your child to experience this exciting dance form in a God-glorifying environment. As with all our classes, our Jazz curriculum integrates Christian principles and values as we share the joy of the Lord through the art of dance.

Class Requirements: Age 10+. Placement class required. Prerequisite Ballet II or Instructor permission. Minimum 3 classes per week required (2 ballet classes and 1 jazz class)
Dress Code: Black leotard, pink tights, and pink leather or canvas split-sole ballet slippers are required. Hair pulled off the face and seemed neatly in a bun.

Conditioning classes are designed to increase the dancer’s strength and flexibility. Exercises will focus on foot, ankle, and leg muscle strength and flexibility as well as proper body alignment. This class will include cardio, strength, and flexibility training.

THIS CLASS MAY ONLY BE TAKEN IN COMBINATION WITH A BALLET CLASS.

Class Length: 30-45 min
Class Requirements: Age 10+. Instructor approval required. Prerequisite Ballet III. Minimum 2 ballet classes per week are required to participate in pre-pointe. This class may only be taken in combination with a Ballet class.

Contemporary IV/V
Contemporary IV/V classes combine elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. Contemporary dancers connect the mind and the body through fluid and expressive dance movements. Contemporary dance stresses versatility and improvisation, unlike the strict, structured nature of ballet. Contemporary dancers focus on floorwork, using gravity to pull them down to the floor. There is less emphasis placed on turn-out and verticality and more work with lateral and off-center torso movements and an openness to emotional interpretation and expression. Classes cover movement combinations, center exercises, and elements of floor work while exploring the relationship of the body to gravity and space. Contemporary dance promotes strength, flexibility and coordination. As with all our classes, our curriculum integrates Christian principles and values as we share the joy of the Lord through the art of dance.

THIS CLASS MAY ONLY BE TAKEN IN COMBINATION WITH BALLET IV/V.

Dance Combo I (age 3-4) classes are designed to encourage our youngest students to love dance. The curriculum focuses on coordination, motor skill development, listening skills, and creative expression, and introduces the concepts of warming up, stretching, and skill progression. The classes use activities and movements that enhance cognitive and social development. Students also learn classroom etiquette and are introduced to the relationship between movement, rhythm, and music. As with all our classes, our Dance Combo I curriculum integrates Christian principles and values as we share the joy of the Lord through the art of dance.

Class Length: 60 min
Class Requirements: Age 3-4
Dress Code Girls: Leotard, tights, and pink leather ballet slippers are required. Hair pulled of the face in ponytail or bun.
Dress Code Boys: White shirt, black shorts, socks and black leather ballet slippers are required.
