We are committed to dance education and to respond to each child’s needs, abilities and rate of assimilation. Taking into consideration the experience and maturity of the individual we are flexible in regards to placement according to age. Our work is based on the idea of dance as an additional resource to general education. We provide a non-competitive and supportive environment from which children and teenagers can feel secure to explore the world of dance. Although our principal focus is not on recitals, we do feel that performing in a theatrical environment is a valuable part of a student’s dance experience. Progressing Ballet Technique & Conditioning
Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) is an innovative body-conditioning and strengthening program that has been designed to enhance students' technique by focussing on training the muscle memory required in each exercise in all forms of dance. It is a unique training system using ballet-technique-specific exercises to train skill acquisition in a graded and progressive manner from junior through to advanced levels. The program helps with injury prevention and rehabilitation and enhances the ability of athletes to perform at their best. PBT focuses on core strength, weight placement, and alignment of the body with a gradual approach of carefully designed exercises and repetitions of these exercises that trigger their muscle memory. The program is designed with a safe dance methodology to promote a long, healthy career.

Kate is certified to teach PBT and is offering this supplemental class for students concurrently enrolled in Ballet levels 2-5. Students will work at the level appropriate for them.

Acro is centered on fundamental acrobatic technique to increase flexibility, strength, balance, coordination, endurance, timing, body awareness, self-discipline, and confidence. Classes focus on proper hand placement and body alignment, emphasizing the muscles and flexibility required to perform proper technique.

Hip hop is a fun, upbeat, stylized class that focuses on personal style and expression. In this class, dancers are encouraged to let go and be free while developing their ability to groove to hip hop music. The movement style is a blend of hip hop’s foundation: poppin’, lockin’, breakin’, housing combined with newer contemporary styles that you may see on popular TV shows.
