Dancers will learn proper ballet vocabulary, positions, and movement while still having the opportunity for creative expression in a nurturing environment.

Hip Hop is a high energy dance class for boys and girls. During this super fun class, the children will learn great new, popular dance skills while getting exercise, learning movement and body awareness and having fun! During class, the students will do a warm up, learn to count music, move “across the floor”, do physical floor work, stretches, light gymnastics, and choreographed dances!

We work on developing large motor skills like jumping, running, hoping, and skipping as well as use our imagination as we learn cognitive skills such as fast and slow, up and down, and many other movements. We want our young students to develop a love for music and movement, but most importantly have fun! We love to use props with this age group – hats, bean bags, parachutes, balloons, and rhythm sticks, to name a few. We also learn to take turns, share, and develop new friendships.
DRESS: Any type of clothing that is easy to move in: leotards, sweats, and/or shorts. Bare feet or ballet shoes are great to wear. Hair pulled away from the face.
