We will sing, dance, act, play, and use our imaginations in class each week! We will learn numbers from favorite musicals including "Moana", "Frozen" and "Cinderella". Theatre boosts confidence, self-control, teamwork, speaking & listening skills, self-expression, and so much more. Join us onstage this year! Ages 3 & up Tuition: $240 Supervised lunchtime: 12:30-1pm. Classtime: 1-1:45 pm.

Buckhead Elem. Theatre Skills (2nd-5th)
Weekly theatre classes feature warm-ups, technique training, drama games, performance exercises, and rehearsal of performance pieces. Throughout the year students will develop their acting, improv, musical theatre, voice, and dance skills in class. This allows each child to learn new skills, find new strengths, and continue to improve in all aspects of theatre performance! We will be including special Lion King Experience Curriculum to coordinate with our YAE musical this year, which will take each class through an 18-unit process that explore fundamentals of theatre-making including: Acting, Design, Music, Playwriting, Choreography, Directing, Technical Theatre, and Stage Management. Special weeks throughout the year include optional themes including Pajama Week, Bring A Friend Week, Bring Your Parents Week, and Wear a Costume Week. Students will perform with their classes at the Forefront Arts Spring Showcase in May 2019 and an invited parent day in December 2018. Students enrolled in a Forefront Arts class can audition to join our performance troupes, the Young Actors Ensemble, Jr Theatre Festival troupe, or FATE, to participate in full-scale productions and additional performance opportunities throughout the year.

Fun theatre games, music, puppetry, crafts, and other creative activities will help students grow artistically while working as a team and having fun. Bolton Lion King JR Drama Club (2nd-5th)
Bolton Drama Club: The Lion King Jr  -- a full-scale theatrical performance experience for 2nd-5th graders  Tuesdays, 3-4:30 pm, $65/month ** Under the direction of a professional director, Bolton students will rehearse and perform Disney's The Lion King JR!  In addition to rehearsing the show students will receive training in audition technique, stage positions, acting, singing, dancing, projection & enunciation, physicality, & much more! The Lion King will be performed in the spring at Bolton Academy alongside the Bolton Songs & Scenes class.  After the play performances the Drama Club students will continue to meet weekly to work on their performance training while learning new material to be performed at the Forefront Arts Spring Showcase held at a professional theatre at the end of the school year (recital fee is included in class tuition). Participation in the Spring Showcase is encouraged but not required.

Students will work with a professional director to perform the musical "Peter Pan! Pirates, Fairies, Lost Boys, and Mermaids -- everyone will have a special role to play in our production of PETER PAN! ~ Boys & girls 2nd-8th grades ~ Thursdays 5-6:30 pm, Feb 7 - May 9 (performances Friday, May 10) ~ $300 (or 4 installments of $80/month) -- includes production supplies & materials ** ~Contact us if you prefer to pay in 4 installments. Students will work with a professional improv actor/instructor to create characters, play improv games, and craft their own improv show with skits, sketch comedy, and laugh-out-loud games! Improv Ensemble is the starting point to improv comedy, stage presence, focus and team work! This class is a fun foundation for young actors as well as a great way for experienced performers to stretch their improv muscles a little bit. Students will participate in the games of improv and theatre that nurture skills in character development, spontaneity, giving and taking focus and ensemble (teamwork) building. There will be several Improv Ensemble performances offered throughout the year.
