Creative Dance class aims to build physical confidence, strength, flexibility and body awareness while developing the child’s natural joy of movement and active imagination. Students will learn fundamental movement skills necessary to express themselves through dance. Children will run, leap, twist, turn, bend, stretch, feel and play, all in a fun, protected and stimulating artistic and creative environment.
Open Houses will occur the final week of classes in December and in May.

C-I Training™ (conditioning-with-imagery) is a body system which incorporates both conditioning exercises for muscular strength, endurance, and flexibility, as well as visualization and imagery work for neuromuscular re-patterning (or movement re-education), alignment work, and mind-body integration and connectedness. A deeply physical experience with clear mind/body integration.
Mandatory for all company members.

This introductory contemporary class aims to build physical confidence, strength, flexibility and body awareness while developing the child’s natural joy of movement and active imagination. Students will learn fundamental movement skills necessary to express themselves through dance. This class participates in the end of the year Spring Show with student choreographies developed during the class.The Spring Show will take place on May 13th and/or 14th, 2025.

Kids learn to express themselves through dynamic movements while building confidence and a sense of rhythm. The atmosphere is fun, encouraging and supportive.

Hip Hop CREW (11-16)
The Hip Hop CREW is for dancers who want more opportunity to perform within the community. Dancers will perform 3 -4 times throughout the year including within the Spring Show in May and select GYD Company shows. Dancers performing in the Hip Hop CREW must take the Hip Hop training class in addition to this class which will focus on learning hip hop choreography.
Not mandatory, but highly recommended is Jazz in order to increase technical skills that will be used in the choreographies.
If interested in participating in the Hip Hop CREW, your CREW non-refundable deposit of $150 plus taxes will be required along with your registration fee. 3 or 7 instalment payments can then be made for class fees from September- March. Please email guelphyouthdance@gmail.com to set up your payment plan option.
