This workshop is recommended for high intermediate and advanced dancers with at least two years of pointe experience. Classes will consist of daily conditioning, ballet, and pointe technique, along with additional classes in modern dance, jazz, classical repertoire, and more.

Girls: any style or color leotard except halters, rhinestones, and cut-outs; pink tights, pink ballet shoes, pointe shoes

Fairytale Ballet August - Hansel & Gretel - Ages 6-8
Come explore the magic of ballet through movement, music, and more! Fairytale Ballet is an engaging introduction to the ballet world for young dancers with or without prior experience. Each day consists of age-appropriate dance instruction, a themed craft, a healthy snack, and story time. The workshop will culminate in a mini-performance for parents.

August's theme promises to be truly delicious! Students will learn rudimentary character dance - European folk dances that have been incorporated into the ballet syllabus - along with classical ballet steps. Dancers will also learn a short work of choreography, complete a daily craft, read the story of Sleeping Beauty, and watch short excerpts of the ballet. A light snack will be provided each day. Friday will include a mini-performance for family.

What to wear: anything that allows for full freedom of movement! Leotard and tights, tank top and shorts, T-shirt and leggings, etc. Hair should be pulled back in a ponytail or bun. Ballet shoes are required but pre-owned shoes can be borrowed from the studio.

What to bring: water-bottle

Fairytale Ballet July - Sleeping Beauty - Ages 6-8
Come explore the magic of ballet through movement, music, and more! Fairytale Ballet is an engaging introduction to the ballet world for young dancers with or without prior experience. Each day consists of age-appropriate dance instruction, a themed craft, a healthy snack, and story time. The workshop will culminate in a mini-performance for parents.

This July, one of the most beloved fairy tales is also one of the world's greatest ballets. This week, students will dance to Tchaikovsky's incomparable score while learning the ballet version of this story (let's just say there are a lot more fairies). Dancers will practice beginning ballet vocabulary, learn a short work of choreography, complete a daily craft, read the story of Sleeping Beauty, and watch short excerpts of the ballet. A light snack will be provided each day. Friday will include a mini-performance for family.

What to wear: anything that allows for full freedom of movement! Leotard and tights, tank top and shorts, T-shirt and leggings, etc. Hair should be pulled back in a ponytail or bun. Ballet shoes are required but pre-owned shoes can be borrowed from the studio.

This June, fly away to Neverland as we explore the magic of dance through the lens of this enchanting story, recently brought to life by Spokane Youth Ballet. Dancers will explore dance elements and ballet vocabulary through colorful music, learn a short work of choreography, complete a daily craft, and read the story of Peter Pan. A light snack will be provided each day. Friday will include a mini-performance for family.

What to wear: anything that allows for full freedom of movement! Leotard and tights, tank top and shorts, T-shirt and leggings, etc. Hair should be pulled back in a ponytail or bun. Ballet shoes are required but pre-owned shoes can be borrowed from the studio.
