Join Mrs. T for some fun, hands-on learning! We will start each morning with morning meeting where we will learn about calendar skills such as days, months and the weather, numbers, letters, shapes, colors, animals, their names, and more! We will practice social skills and problem solving with cooperative games and have discussions and sing songs to work on self-expression. Together we’ll read books and create art, craft writing, and learn counting and number skills. Mrs. T will also help students with gaining fine motor skills, learning their names, practice prereading skills, and counting with materials that will be brought home for more and more fun after class is over!

Learn about goals, meal plans, chore charts, evacuation plans, packing lists, budgets, basic typing skills, team building, etiquette throughout history, and so much more! Language arts for this unit is not once a week but rather included on most days as it pertains to the lesson (such as writing a letter or card when you learn about communication).

Fight monsters, cast spells, explore caverns and so much more! In this class, students will
create characters and learn how to play the fantastical role playing game Dungeons and
Dragons. Geared towards younger kids, we will learn the basics of how to make character
sheets, but they will have the option to choose from characters already created for them. We will
spend time playing these PG, shortened versions of Dungeons and Dragons from the D and D
Adventure Club. Check out their website to get more information!
All students will receive their very own set of dice, as well as a character sheet. If your child
loves fantasy, adventure, and using their imagination, this is the perfect class for them!

Let’s take a step back in time to explore American history from the early explorers through the Civil War. We’ll use the “Who was" series and different videos. Some topics will include topics include explorers, the Iroquois, Jamestown, the Mayflower, early settlers, forts, Daniel Boone, the French and Indian War, the American Revolution, the Constitution, American government, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Plains Indians, Lewis and Clark, the War of 1812, Harriet Tubman, slavery, Abraham Lincoln, the Civil War, and more. There may even be a historical character parade at the end of our semester.

We will do some book critiques, creating alternate endings and journal entries, projects/crafts pertaining to the books . The books are not required but students can bring it to follow along.
