This is a great class for beginners to try and see if they like hip hop, jazz, ball, and acro.

Here are a few things you will need to participate:
Royal blue leotard, tan convertible tights, and tan slip on jazz shoes OR solid black leggings, white compression t-shirt, black calf high socks, black jazz shoes.

Long hair should be in a neat cinnamon bun with a hairnet, hairspray, and gel to keep it in place (please let us know if you need help with this). Short hair should be pulled back with a SOFT headband and/or snap clip barrettes, gel and/or hairspray to keep hair out of the face and eyes.

No Jewelry should be worn (this includes earrings).

We require students to wear a mask to enter the lobby but they may remove it once they are in the studio.

Students learn tap technique and terminology while focusing on crisp, clear sounds. Students that enjoy percussion sounds will enjoy this class. Helps students learn rhythmic musicality and coordination.

Pre-Pointe: Requires teacher recommendation. Strengthening class that must be taken with regular ballet class. Students en Pointe or preparing for pointe must take 3 classes of ballet/week to maintain foot and core strength. Required for dancers wishing to advance to Pointe work.

Pointe: Requires teacher recommendation. Advanced level strengthening class that must be taken with regular ballet class. Students en Pointe or preparing for pointe must take 3 classes of ballet/week to maintain foot and core strength. Required for all dancers en Pointe.

Ballet class requires discipline, strength and flexibility. This art form requires many years of training to master. As dancers progress, they are required to take ballet 2x per week. Class work focuses on barre, center, across the floor, etc. in order to help dancers master the needed skills for this art. Must take 2 times a week plus pre/pointe.

Requires evaluation.

Dance attire:

Dance Acro
This class is great for students who want to mix it up a bit. Dancers learn a combination of creative motion and acrobatics. While this class might look like gymnastics, the techniques needed are different because the performer must learn to perform on a hard stage. Dancers work on flexibility, strength, and coordination. This class is a great complement to ballet.

Dance attire:
Company level leotard, skin toned convertible tights (upon teacher approval, students may wear any studio wear leggings), OR White compression t-shirt, Black tights/leggings or mid-thigh length dance shorts,
no shoes (upon teacher approval, students may wear any studio wear black leggings over leo/tights)

PREREQUISITE: one year of Seafoam Jazz

Jazz movement is ballet-based style of dance but the music is pop oriented and theatrical in nature. Classes work on flexibility, alignment and Jazz terminology through warm-up, center work and traveling floor work. Previous experience in Ballet is helpful in all jazz classes. While it is not required, Ballet is recommended to be taken with jazz.
Teacher evaluation required.

Musical Theatre

Students will study jazz technique, Broadway/musical theater style jazz, contemporary/modern jazz styles. Classes consist of warm-up, center work, and progressions that are designed to increase flexibility, strength, and technique. Classes will also include developing performance, confidence, and expression. Requires teacher evaluation.

Dress code:
Company level leotard, skin toned convertible tights OR White compression t-shirt, Black tights/leggings or mid-thigh length dance shorts, black calf high socks

In this fun class, dancers begin to learn body control, creative expression, dance foundations, and so much more.

In this class, students break away from ballet to embrace a less restrictive form of dance. Class will include creative expression and improvisational skills. Students will also earn the techniques of Horton. Includes principles of fall/recovery, contraction/release, floor work, balance etc.
Teacher evaluation required.

Seafoam Ballet is also offered on Saturdays for those that wish to increase their technique and strength.

seafoam leotard, skin toned or theatrical pink convertible tights, skin toned/pink (must match tights) split- sole canvas ballet shoes, demi-pointe shoes (requires teacher permission) OR White compression t-shirt, Black tights/leggings or mid-thigh length dance shorts, black calf high socks, black canvas ballet shoes.
