Movers and Shakers - Monday
This class is a combination of beginner jazz and lyrical dance. Jazz is high energy movement with personality and style set to age-appropriate pop music. Lyrical dance is about telling a story and expressing yourself through movement to passionate power ballads. If your child loves belting out songs and dancing around the living room, this class will be like a dream come true!

Acro Skills and Drills - Level 1
No pre-requisite skills. Great conditioning class for kids that are involved in other sports as well as dancers with some experience.
We will focus on developing:
• Balances: headstand, handstand, chest stand, elbow stand
• Flexibility: bridges, leg holds, splits
• Skills: cartwheel, bridge recover, kick over, front and back walkover, limber and variations
Each class will focus primarily on developing acro skills and we recommend dancers also take a flexibility class because conditioning time will be limited.

Tap Technique - Level 2
For students with minimum of 2 years competitive tap dance training or 4 years recreational tap training.
Level is Junior 3 to Pre-Intermediate 2 ADAPT tap.
Technique classes develop clean, crisp sounds, a strong understanding of rhythm, as well as new skills, combinations and steps. It is recommended that dancers also train in jazz. Dancers who wish to compete in tap this spring must take a tap class during fall semester.

Classical Vanganova Ballet Instructor Galla McCourt will guide students on their journey to become better dancers. Her knowledge and passion for ballet makes this class interesting, fun and extremely valuable for competition dancers. This class is also open to recreational dancers who have at least 1 year of ballet training.

Mini Team - Competitive Dance Technique Class
This all in one class covers jazz, tap, hip hop and acro technique and choreography. Dancers should have previous dance experience, but it's not necessary to have experience in all the styles. All students will learn jazz and tap, then students will be divided into two groups for acro and hip hop (teachers will decide which style students should focus on). We recommend that dancers also enroll in Movers and Shakers, Boss Kids and/or Acro Skills and Drills to continue to build their repertoire of skills.

Flexibility and Balance
No pre-requisite skills: each dancer will receive an individualized stretching plan that focuses on areas they need to improve.
We will focus on developing:
• Splits, leg hold, needle, scorpion
• Headstands, handstand, chest stand, elbow stand and variations
• Improving Extensions: arabesque, tilt, attitude, a la seconde.

Jumps and Turns - Level 3
Dancers have at least 3 years of jazz training and must have triple pirouette and grand jete (if unsure of placement, please send video)
We will focus on developing:
• Jumps: jete/switch split, calypso jump, Baryshnikov, tilt jump, tour, straddle jump variations
• Turns: improving pirouette- increasing repetitions, fouette, grand pirouette and variations/combos
Each class will have combinations of jump and turn variations, with new material each week that will challenge students all summer long. This class is the perfect way to prepare for auditions on the lyrical, contemporary, jazz or acro teams.

Dancers have at least 2 years of jazz training and must have double pirouette and step hop arabesque (if unsure of placement, please send video)
We will focus on developing:
• Jumps: jete, calypso jump, Baryshnikov, tilt jump, tour, straddle jump and variations
• Turns: improving pirouette- increasing repetitions and laying foundation for fouette and grand pirouette
Each class will have combinations of jump and turn variations, with new material each week that will challenge students all summer long. This class is the perfect way to prepare for auditions on the lyrical, contemporary, jazz or acro teams.

Each class will focus primarily on developing acro skills and we recommend dancers also take a flexibility class because conditioning time will be limited.

Competition Level Class - dancers must have 2 years experience in jazz.
Dancers will learn jazz specific technique and choreography. It is recommended for competitive jazz dancers (not mandatory), and can be replaced or supplemented with Jumps and Turns.

Competition Level Class - dancers must have 2 years experience in tap.
Preceding jazz class is a co-requisite (you must be enrolled in Jazz Choreography to take this class).
We will cover tap technique, counting/rhythm work, and Broadway-style tap choreography. s
Tap is mandatory for any dancers that are hoping to compete in tap in Spring 2021.

Mat Monkeys
Each dancer gets their own mat in this fun class where we learn the basics of acro dance: how to develop and use our muscles to balance and to stretch, while building gross motor skills, enhancing cognitive development, and building discipline and self-confidence in our young students. This 30 minute class is perfect for dancers moving up from Watch Me Dance and new dancers.

AcroDance is a combination of acro skills (cartwheels, handstand, walkovers, tumbling) and dance skills (jumps, turns and travelling steps). This class is great for dancers who take just one class per week and are hoping to dance in a recital in the spring of 2021.

Watch Me Dance
This assisted class is perfect for toddlers and their caregivers to spend time together having fun, moving about our large space and using our specialized equipment to teach kids spacial awareness, following directions, waiting your turn while developing motor skills and enhancing cognitive development. Experienced teachers captivate the attention of our youngest dancers with our tried and true methods of engagement and our fabulous curriculum that's perfect for curious minds (and quickly changing interests!)

Tumble Tots and Tutus
Fabulous fun on a Saturday morning (and a great way to get some of that energy out!)
Dancers will learn basic acro skills and terminology, while learning how to develop and use their muscles to gain new skills. Basic dance skills will also be covered using ballet curriculum. Ballet provides a strong foundation for any dancer. They will learn how to use their feet and the floor, while improving posture, building self-confidence and practicing self-expression in a safe environment.
Please note: all our classes are gender neutral. Students are given lots of ideas on how to express themselves and encouraged to do so freely within the exercise the teacher is instructing. Tutus are not required, we just thought it was a cute name.

Tap shoes required for this fun Saturday morning energy burn! Dancers will learn basic tap technique for the first part of the class. They will learn about rhythm, counting and how to make music with their feet. The second part will be jumps and turns that form the basis of jazz dance technique. This class is set to age-appropriate pop music with some classic Broadway moves and music built-in to introduce dancers to performing arts culture and history.
Please note: all our classes are gender neutral. Students are given lots of ideas on how to express themselves and encouraged to do so freely within the parameters of each exercise in our syllabus.

Calling all crazy kids! Is your child always upside down, running around or just full of energy?
This fast-paced class is that energy burn you (both) crave. Explore hip hop dance and acro, all while improving brain-body connection (becoming more aware of how to develop and use muscles effectively). Dancers will be learning new acrobatic skills (headstands, handstands, cartwheels and way more!) and hip hop technique while grooving to (age-appropriate) hip hop music.
This is an awesome class for boys and girls. The curriculum is gender neutral.

Boss Kids
A celebration of big personalities, this class starts with a hip hop cardio warm up with simple, easy to follow choreography that kids will recognize and be super excited to learn. We sneak in some conditioning to teach kids how to develop and use their muscles more effectively (we've had many parents say this helps kids excel in other sports too).
This class also covers basic Acro skills like headstands, handstands, cartwheels/round-offs and some elements of bboy/bgirl floor work.
Boys will have the opportunity to work with a male teacher in this class.

Stage Stars
Everyone that loves singing and dancing along to their favorite songs will be super excited for this class each week! With themes like High School Musical, Teen Beach, Hairspray (and more!) we're going to have a blast exploring musical theatre and jazz dance technique and choreography. The level of this class is open, so it's great for new and experienced dancers alike. Each 3-4 weeks, students will receive lyrics for the small sections of songs that we will be performing, if they wish to learn them a head of time. This isn't a signing class, dancers lip sync when they are first exploring musical theatre, we focus on acting and dancing - each class is like putting on a show!

Momentum
Fun, easy to follow Hip Hop choreography with trendy moves and grooves that everyone will be excited to learn. We sneak in a great cardio workout and a little bit of conditioning before we take out the mats and work on acro skills like headstands and shoulder stands (and lots of other stands!), rolls, stalls and other elements of bboy/bbgirl tricks.
Level is open, no experience required, this class is a perfect way to stay active and learn new skills. Returning recreational dancers will be challenged to continue to improve but we also accept new dancers in this class.
