Dive into dance this summer! Did you know that dance isn't just about movement? It's also about self-expression, confidence-building, and connecting with others. Whether you are a complete beginner or a seasoned dancer, our adult ballet and jazz classes offer something for everyone. In our 7-week summer session starting June 3rd, you'll have the opportunity to explore the beauty of ballet and the energy of jazz dance with Instructor, Kathleen Snarr. Plus, you'll get to experience firsthand the positive impact dance can have on your fitness and social life.

Stay Strong: Yoga for Dancers

Yoga for Dancers will be held 10:00-11:00 am on Thursdays: June 6th, 13th and 27th. This yoga class is for youth dancers. Spend an hour working on strength and flexibility while also relaxing the body, mind and soul. Please bring a water bottle. We have mats available at the studio. Instructor, Taylor Bartel is YTT Certified.

Lyrical blends elements of Ballet and Jazz. Lyrical dancers' strength and grace are greatly aided by a satisfactory level of Ballet experience. Powerful music is used to give dancers a chance to express a range of emotions through their dancing. Lyrical is fluid and focuses on leaps and turns.

AcroDance is the beautiful fusion of the artistic motion of dance and the athleticism of acrobatics. AcroDance is not the same as gymnastics. AcroDance focuses on 5 main elements: Flexibility, Strength, Balancing, Limbering, and Tumbling. Students will learn the importance of safe progressions, in a fun and challenging way! Creative movements and visualizations will be used for younger AcroDancers. Instructors are certified in the Acrobatice Arts curriculum.

This class focuses on the importance of rhythm and sound. The student will learn to use the feet as percussive instruments. Different styles of Tap may be taught including: Classical, Broadway, Jazz, and Rhythm Tap. Students will also learn tap terminology. Adult students are not required to perform in the annual recital, but have the opportunity to do so, if they choose.

Ballet Basics is a class designed for the beginning student. Dancers ages 3-5 will learn basic movement skills, begin to learn Ballet steps and terminology, be introduced to limited Ballet choreography, and participate in movement games and movement discovery using a variety of props (ribbons, hula hoops, bean bags, scarves, etc.).

Movement for the Mind (ages 3-5)

Movement for the Mind is an introduction to all types of dance. General movement will be emphasized. Children will work through 8 developmental patterns (as used in BrainDance), using games, music, play, and dance. This class is for 3-5 year old students.
Movement stimulates brain growth and promotes brain health! The brain has plasticity-through movement, sensory input, and repetition with novelty, the brain can create new neurons and neural pathways (Brain-Compatible Dance Education, Anne Green Gilbert).
