Stay Strong: Yoga for Dancers

Yoga for Dancers will be held 10:00-11:00 am on Thursdays: June 6th, 13th and 27th. This yoga class is for youth dancers. Spend an hour working on strength and flexibility while also relaxing the body, mind and soul. Please bring a water bottle. We have mats available at the studio. Instructor, Taylor Bartel is YTT Certified.

Lyrical blends elements of Ballet and Jazz. Lyrical dancers' strength and grace are greatly aided by a satisfactory level of Ballet experience. Powerful music is used to give dancers a chance to express a range of emotions through their dancing. Lyrical is fluid and focuses on leaps and turns.

AcroDance is the beautiful fusion of the artistic motion of dance and the athleticism of acrobatics. AcroDance is not the same as gymnastics. Creative movements and visualizations will be used for younger AcroDancers. Instructors are certified in the Acrobatice Arts curriculum.

Different styles of Tap may be taught including: Classical, Broadway, Jazz, and Rhythm Tap. Students will also learn tap terminology. Adult students are not required to perform in the annual recital, but have the opportunity to do so, if they choose.

Movement for the Mind (ages 3-5)

Movement for the Mind is an introduction to all types of dance. General movement will be emphasized. Children will work through 8 developmental patterns (as used in BrainDance), using games, music, play, and dance. This class is for 3-5 year old students.
Movement stimulates brain growth and promotes brain health! The brain has plasticity-through movement, sensory input, and repetition with novelty, the brain can create new neurons and neural pathways (Brain-Compatible Dance Education, Anne Green Gilbert).
