Contemporary 4 & 5 Monday
Pre-requisite: must be enrolled in a ballet class at the same time (Jazz is highly recommended)

Contemporary dance is the exploration of the total movement potential of the body. Contemporary is not bound by set standards, as well as defined styles such as ballet or jazz. Instead, it seeks to express a personalized vision, often through experimentation and collaboration for the development of new, more individualized approaches to the moving body and choreographic possibilities. It does not refuse classical ballet’s leg technique in favor of modern’s stress on the torso, while it also employs contract-release, floor work, fall and recovery, and improvisation characteristic of modern dance. This class meets once per week.
Prerequisite: must be currently enrolled in a ballet class, jazz experience is highly recommended

Ballet 3 Wednesday
For dancers in 4th grade and up. This class meets twice per week (make sure to register for the other class held on Friday's). This class is a Beginner-Intermediate level ballet class. In this level we start to put elements learned in prior levels together. For example, Passe (Level 1) became pique-passe (Level 2) now becomes pique turn. This is an exciting level as dancers slowly develop a more focussed, but still fun, approach to dance. We meet twice per week because we want our dancers to develop a muscle memory and recall a little more quickly as we start to introduce a more complicated ballet terminology.

At this level we change how we move to the next level from age to ability. We do not expect any dancer to complete a level in less than two years. We believe that each dancer is unique, with their own strengths and weaknesses, and as long as they are consistent in their attendance and give their best effort while in class, they will progress at a pace that is appropriate for them.

All Boys Hip Hop Wednesday (Ages 5-13)
Hip Hop class specifically for Boys! The class consists of a warm-up routine, center and across the floor combinations, and acro tricks common in hip hop. This high energy, fast paced class is sure to keep your dancing boy moving and happy! Rodney is a very experienced instructor and will be able to handle the age range in this class and keep everyone moving at their level.

Dress Code: Comfortable clothing that they can move in. They will get hot so shorts and a t-shirt are great! (Just be sure that the shorts stay where they're supposed to! We don't like the kind which show undergarments. Sneakers with a flat sole which are not worn anywhere else. (our dance floors doesn't like outside dirt and grime)
