It is compulsory for students to wear their Rockit uniform to class. You can purchase a uniform on Saturdays during school terms between 9am and 1pm from reception.

Students must wear appropriate dance shoes to class. Ballet= ballet shoes, Lyrical = toe socks, Acrobatics = bare feet, Hip Hop and Breaking = black sneakers, Jazz = black jazz shoes, Tap = Black Capezio tap shoes.

Students with long hair, must come to class with it tied back securely. No loose ponytails, they spend of all class fiddling with their hair.

Each student must provide their own yoga block and theraband. These can be purchased from Kmart.

Students learn weekly technical skills in both commercial and broadway jazz styles. These skills are weaved into choreographic routines for the mid and end of year concerts.

Jazz incorporates fast movements such as turns, leaps and kicks to upbeat and energetic music. Students learn weekly foundation and technical exercises that are weaved into choreographic routines performed at the mid and end of year concerts.

UNIFORMS

Black jazz shoes. We recommend purchasing shoes from Dance FX in Unley.

COSTUMES

It is the responsibility of the parent/carer to ensure the correct email address has been provided. You are also responsible for reading posters and notices in the foyer of the studio.

CAR PARK SAFETY
Students are not permitted to run across the car park without a parent. Parents must come to the foyer of the studio to collect students and walk them to the car.

Diversity Dance Company
Diversity Dance Company is the perfect opportunity for dancers with and without disabilities to work together. A unique and truly inspiring dance company comprised of young people and adults aged 12+. This company meet weekly to express their feelings through dance (fabulous for those who struggle to express feelings through words). Performance pieces focus on matters relating to the dancers' daily lives.

Diversity fees can be claimed through the NDIS if you are self or plan managed. Speak to our Finance Manager for more information: finance@rockitpa.com.au

Diversity will perform in the mid and end of year production. They will also perform at a local dance competition in either the July or October school holidays.

This is a beginners ballet class for adults. If you enjoyed ballet as a child, or always dreamed of learning ballet, this is the ideal class for you. No prior experience necessary. This class is gentle and focuses on balance, coordination and fluidity.

UNIFORMS - Are not compulsory for this class but if you would like a Rockit t-shirt please inform staff. It is recommended you wear comfortable clothing that is easy to move in.

This is a beginner dance class focusing on contemporary dance. Students will learn performance routines with social justice subject matter. This is a wonderful class that is inclusive of all abilities and focuses on social interaction alongside performance.

This is a brand new advanced junior team. This team focuses on lyrical, ballet and acrobatics. Students attend 2 technical classes per week, before joining Miss Noni for 1 hour of training and choreography.

This team is invitation only and is a stepping stone toward the older teams Ignite and Rockit Fuel.

This is an advanced program that requires a high level of commitment. Students can only join through audition or invitation. If a student misses 3 or more classes in a term, they will have to forfeit their position in the team.

SACE Stage 1 & 2 Dance
SACE Stage 1 Dance (Year 11 Dance) in 2024. Students will earn 20 SACE Stage 1 credits to complete this course.

The course runs for 2 semesters. Students must attend a minimum of three technical classes per week, plus 1 day of theory and composition classes.

This course is being run in parentship with Open Access College. Students must ask their schools to enrol them into SACE Stage 1 Dance through Open Access College.

Government school students can access funding for the course through Open Access (but will need to pay them an annual enrolment fee). Non-Government students must negotiate with their school to see if they can access a school contribution toward fees.

Cert IV Dance Teaching Management
Register your interest to participate in a VET Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management commencing 2024. This course runs for 2 years and gives students 95 points towards their SACE Stage 2 Certification.

Students need to participate in three technical classes per week (minimum) plus 1 day of theory lectures. Students are also required to shadow teachers in the classroom for up to 2 lessons per week. Students are to provide their own laptop or Ipad for theory work.

Talk to your child's school to see how much they will contribute toward the VET fees.

Total fees will include the number of technical classes you attend per week, a RTO registraton fee of $1200 and fees for a full day of theory per week. Figures will be released shortly.

This exciting class see's students undertaking jazz dance, acrobatics and a few lifts with the ever important pom poms. Dance cheer is not the American style you see on television. It was a bigger focus on dance and emphasis on using pom poms.

Students learn technical skills each week whilst perfecting choreography for the mid and end of year concert.

Dance Cheer Cadet (ages 5 to 6 years)
This exciting class see's students undertaking jazz dance, acrobatics and a few lifts with the ever important pom poms. Dance cheer is not the American style you see on television. It was a bigger focus on dance and emphasis on using pom poms.

Students learn technical skills each week whilst perfecting choreography for the mid and end of year concert.

UNIFORMS - Rockit uniforms are compulsory for this class. If children wear a Rockit t-shirt they must wear a crop top underneath. Students can feel uncomfortable when their shirts ride up during upside down balances.
SHOES - White lace up sneakers.
HAIR - Hair must be tied back in a ponytail, braid or plaits. No alligator clips or large combs.
JEWELLERY AND NAILS - For safety, students should not wear jewellery or long nails to class.
WATER - Students must bring their own water bottle to class each week.
PARENTS IN THE STUDIO - Parents/carers are not permitted into the dance studios, but you are more than welcome to watch through the viewing windows.

Mini Lyrical (ages 3 to 4 years)
Lyrical is a highly expressive form of dance. This class is best suited to the children who love to dance and want more freedom in their movement than ballet. Each week students learn technical skills in dance and acrobatics. These are then weaved into choreographed routines performed at the mid and end of year production.

UNIFORMS Rockit uniforms are compulsory for this class and can be purchased Saturday mornings from reception.
SHOES Bare feet.
HAIR Long hair must be tied back.

RISE Classroom Assistant Training (invite only)
RISE is our classroom assistant training program. It stands for Respect, Inclusion, Support and Education. Students aged 12+ who are selected for the program, attend one or two lessons per week with the younger students. Miss Noni will select what class each RISE student will work with. During this time, they need to use the skills they learn through our online RISE training program teaching students safe dance warm up, safe stretching, behaviour management and inclusion.

This program is training tomorrow's leaders.

It is compulsory for students to wear a RISE t-shirt or jumper for easy identification when they are working with students.
