In acrobatics & trampoline, you'll learn how to tumble, roll and flip through the air. Every class will include strengthening basic shapes like hollow, arch, and plank. We will cover ground acrobatics and trampoline skills. As the class progresses, we will move on to more advanced skills, flips, twists, and kicks. Ruth’s exploration into the world of strength training began when she was teen training as a dancer. She understood then, the importance of weight/resistance training in keeping the body strong and balanced, along with the increased endurance it can provide. Although she moved on from dancer to mom to fitness coach to aerialist, she has stayed consistent in her own strength training journey over the decades and began coaching others in 2018 at NoVo Body in Los Angeles, CA.
With a strong focus on your individual based goals and modifications where needed, Ruth’s coaching will bring your full body and core much needed and increased muscle strength, balance, and endurance.

Using technical frameworks which will enhance all levels of hooping, we will cover techniques for solidifying basic on-body and off-body hooping moves. Coach Alex began her hooping journey a decade ago by watching online hoop tutorials and attending in-person workshops. Drawing from these and her own experiments in movement, she is excited to translate the best of what she's learned to new hoopers both young and old.

On-body hooping is learned most easily on bare skin which grips the hoop better than fabric, or on tight-fitting clothes that allow the hoop more body contact than clothes that sag. If you really want to focus on techniques for waist-to-chest hooping or leg hooping, a sports bra/tank top and shorts are recommended. Feel free to layer and adjust depending on what we're working on.

Hoops will be provided for the class, but if you have your own you would like to use or share, please bring them along too!

Advanced Aerial Technique is for aerialists wanting to fine tune their technique and take their skills to the next level. Through appropriate progressions, we will focus on technique skills like c-shaping, beats, open drops, and other more advanced pathways. Students are encouraged to bring requests of what they want to learn as this class is aimed to create more self direction in students, heading towards solo training and performing. We will also have some time for learning new sequences and finding some personal expression and familiarity on the apparatus. Ioana will slowly guide students through movements primarily focusing on muscle engagement in their most lengthened positions. Older students and young gumby students alike will benefit from safely improving flexibility while gaining greater body awareness and muscular control. The 1hr class will begin with a warmup to prime muscles for deeper stretches. Next, muscles will be taken through full range of motion, followed by a final skill, and ending in full body cool down. What is cyr wheel? A cyr wheel is a giant, really heavy hoola hoop that you will likely never hoola hoop. Instead of you spinning it, it spins you. It is one of the few circus arts friendly to those scared of heights as its performed on the ground. Cyr wheel is a mix between a circus art and a flow art, and so the style of it depends entirely on you. You can spin around or hardly spin at all. You can dance around with the wheel as your partner in a graceful elegance or show off feats of strength without ever pointing a toe. 

Interested in Cyr Wheel? Then come take this class. If you've never touched one? Perfect you’re welcome here. You can waltz but need help going upside down? Perfect you’re welcome here. All levels of cyr wheel are welcome because learning cyr wheel is a personal journey. There is no way we can all learn the same thing the same way.
