A low-impact, high intensity follow along dance based full body workout. Learning easy cardio dance sequences stepping on and off an exercise step.
A fun dance and fitness mesh-up. Modifications will be provided, so all are welcome.
Class Format:
-light warmup to get to get body moving
-learn short stackable sequences
-cool down body stretch
Attire:
-Anything you feel comfortable to exercise in. Bare feet/gripped socks/tennis shoes are all great.

Barre Fitness (Ages 16 and Above) (Sept-Dec)
EDC’s Barre class is a low-impact, high-energy fitness class to help you get your morning started and your fitness goals achieved. This workout is a fun fusion between traditional ballet movements and strength training with high repetition of small movements and stretching. The class is built to make sure no muscle group goes untouched. Modifications will be provided, so any level is welcome!
Class Format:
- Light warmup to get the body moving!
- Get the arms pumping!
- Head to the barre to work the glutes, hamstrings, and abductors/adductors with isometric movements and stretching.
- Down to the floor for some core!
- Time to cool down.
Attire:
Anything you can comfortably move in! Barefoot or lightweight tennis shoes.
Optional Equipment:
- 2lbs/3lbs hand weights
- resistance loop bands

Creative Movement - B (Ages 3-4)

In Creative Movement, the dance classroom environment is first introduced to our tiniest students! Students learn to take basic direction from an instructor, gain body awareness, and begin to understand group work - like moving consecutively in a circle, or working with partners. Musicality and rhythm are introduced through clapping, singing, and improvising to music. Props are introduced to help students respond to music. Basic movement themes such as jumping, ballet walks, skipping, spinning, and more help build their dance foundation.
Students must be fully potty trained prior to enrollment.

EDC follows a “closed practice” policy for all classes. Parents/guardians may observe during observation week the first full week of each month, the last 5-10 minutes of class.

Competitive team members are required to attend a minimum of one strength/flexibility class each week.

Pom is a style of dance, commonly performed by high school and college students at halftime during basketball season and other school athletic events. Pom dance is sometimes also known as a school or college dance squad or dance team.
Pom can sometimes be confused with cheerleading. The difference between the two is that Pom focuses more directly on technique, and cheerleading on stunting and tumbling. Pom is not known for its tricks and stunts, rather for its style of dance, which is focused on the choreography, patterns, technique and use of pom poms.

Tap is strongly encouraged for all dance students, as it teaches and encourages the understanding of musicality.
