Students in this class must be at least 3 years old and fully potty trained prior to enrollment.

Students in this class will work on the basic positions, drills and movements such as tuck, straddle, bridge, handstands, forward rolls, cartwheels and standing back bends in a safe and fun environment in preparation for higher level structured tumbling classes.

This non-performance class for ages 10-18 focuses on each student's range of motion, muscle flexibility, and muscle strength. Through a variety of stretches and strengthening exercises, students will increase their own personal awareness of their potential!

Mini Tumbling A - Coach Recommendation Required
Students in this class must be fully potty trained prior to enrollment.

Students in this class must be between the ages of 3 and 5 years old, as well as able to execute a proper front roll, proper back roll, an unassisted handstand on the wall, and push up to a bridge (backbend) from the ground.

If you’re unsure of your student’s skill level, please contact us to schedule an evaluation with one of our coaches, and we’d be happy to assess their skills and place them in the appropriate level.

This class will alternate between ballet, jazz, and contemporary styles and techniques each week. Students will need to arrive early to do independent stretch if not attending 5:00-6:00 strength/flexibility class.

Students in this class spend an hour split between Creative Movement Dance Curriculum and Fundamental Tumbling Curriculum. Students learn to take basic direction from an instructor, gain body awareness, and begin to understand group work.

In dance, students learn basic dance fundamentals like moving consecutively in a circle, or working with partners. Musicality and rhythm are introduced through clapping, singing, and improvising to music. Props are introduced to help students respond to music. Basic movement themes such as jumping, ballet walks, skipping, spinning, and more help build their dance foundation.

In tumbling, students will work on the basic positions, drills and movements such as tuck, straddle, bridge, handstands, forward rolls, cartwheels and standing back bends in a safe and fun environment in preparation for higher level structured tumbling classes.

Students in this class must be able to execute a bridge down and back up from a standing position, proper cartwheel, proper roundoff, an unassisted handstand on the wall, and a proper and unassisted walkover prior to enrollment.

Ballet 2 (Ages 8-10)
Ballet is a formalized type of performance dance, which originated in the Italian Renaissance courts of the 15th century, and which was further developed in France, England, and Russia as a concert dance form. It is a highly technical form of dance with its own vocabulary. Technique is based on body alignment, proper placement, and posture. Barre and center floor are combined with choreography to teach musicality, rhythm, coordination, and flexibility. Ballet provides a strong foundation for all the forms of dance, as it is the basis for all forms of dance. Ballet is encouraged for all dancers as well as athletes wishing to gain better body control, alignment, and core strength.

An In-House performance is held the last week of class.

Jazz dance is frequently influenced by other dance styles and other dance styles are in turn influenced by jazz dance. It is a faster paced dance technique, typically danced to popular culture music. This class emphasizes long lines and musicality. Jazz encompasses many forms of technique - from contemporary to musical theater. Students will focus on proper technique such as isolations of the body, performance quality, and developing complex rhythms and patterns. Jazz classes typically include a proper warm-up, across the floor progressions, and choreography combinations.
