Shining Stars
Shining Stars is a class for 3-5 years olds. It is an introduction to dance which includes Tap, Ballet, and Yoga. Children may start the class at 2.5 years if ready. This class uses a prop kit that enhances imaginary play while helping to learn dance basics. They are made for each individual student for sanitary reasons. The cost of the prop kit is $8.

Jazz III
Jazz classes allow the student to explore a range of motion and emphasize character and expression through dance. (Ballet is recommended prior to and while taking jazz classes.)
This level III class is for the student that has taken level II for at least 2 years and their teacher has recommended they move up. The students should have the basics of a double jazz turn, slow and fast chaine turn combination across the floor, pique turns, hitch kick and tuck jumps, and working on perfecting splits on both sides . Moving up to level III means the student is willing to practice their dance at home as well as stretch on days they are not in class in order to increase flexibility and prevent injuries. Level III jazz requires enrollment in a ballet class. Taking level II jazz or the leaps and turns class is highly encouraged if you wish to move up to jazz IV in 2-3 years.
Moving up to level III as well as moving out of level III requires teacher approval.

Shooting Stars
Shooting Stars is a class for 5-7 years olds. It is the second level up from Shining Stars to dance which includes Tap, Ballet, and Yoga. They are now learning dance steps which require good balance, knowing left and right, hoping on one foot, and using counting knowledge in our choreography. Dancers shine bright in this class for 2 years before moving up to be a Galaxy Groover! This class uses a prop kit that enhances imaginary play while helping to learn dance basics. They are made for each individual student for sanitary reasons. The cost of the prop kit is $8.

Hip Hop 1
At level 1, this class will allow the new student the introduction into Hip Hop dance. This is the next step up from Hip Hop Jr. This class integrates innovative choreography through stops, suspensions, and musicality. Paying attention to beats in the music and cues from singers, dancers will develop muscle strength and isolation as they discover their own style while practicing to hip-hop music. If your child is younger than 8, register for the Friday Hip Hop Jr. Class or Saturday Hip Hop Acro class. If your child is older than 11, you can register for the Hip Hop Teen class.

Contemporary 1
At level 1, this class will allow the new student the introduction into Contemporary dance. We highly encourage dancers who enter this class to have taken level 1 ballet for at least one year before enrolling in this class. Enrolling in ballet while enrolled in this class is very helpful to having a successful and fun year in Contemporary. This class is a blending of jazz and modern technique with the release of the spine and turned in movements to create fluid, challenging choreography. This class often includes jumps, dance improvisation, and floor work.

Tap III
Students will tackle challenging variations, progress in tap vocabulary, experience rhythm, and refine their skills in musicality. Our advanced levels challenge students with sophisticated rhythms including a capella timing, advanced turns, and performance techniques. In addition, students also develop timing, terminology, and coordination while strengthening their legs and feet. At this level students are expected to practice on their own and come back knowing or progressing on their previous class. Enrollment in an upper level teacher suggestion.

Ballet IV
Students at level IV know their ballet technique, basic barre and center floor exercises. Proper body posture and placement are part of the dancer's comfortable dancing body. 3 total ballet classes per week are required to be enrolled in this class if you are doing point work. A move up into this level requires teacher approval. Leaps and Turns is an option for your 3rd ballet class.

Jazz I
Students will begin to learn the basic dance techniques such as plies, tendus, degages and battements as well as jazz square, grapevines, lindys, chasses, pas de bourree, jazz turns, jazz walks, kicks, proper foot and body placement. Additional goals will be to have the students become more comfortable with skills and body movements. Students will learn a warm up routine and dance routine for the performance in this class.
Children that join at the age of 8 have already taken 1 to 2 years of previous jazz or ballet experience. Otherwise 8 year olds should sign up for a Galexy Groovers class for at least 1 year instead or in addition to this class.

Musical Theater I
Singing and acting are key components to this program! In addition to refining dance and singing skills, students will also develop skills in theatre auditions and performance quality. Combinations and recital dances emphasize upbeat emotion and expression through costumes, lyrics, and choreography.
Musical Theatre I (3rd-6th grade) requires jazz dance basics and preferably has taken Level 1 Jazz or Galaxy Groovers. Students remain in class for 2-3 years before moving to Musical Theatre II.

Jazz IV
At level IV this student is enrolled in the lower level jazz class for technique (or Leaps and Turns) as well as a ballet class. Basic dance technique, counting music, as well as proper body posture and alignment are known. Level IV focuses on using dance technique in stylized manners for combinations center floor and multiple leap and turn combinations across the floor. Working on triple pirouettes on each side, switch and center leaps, changing spot chaine or pique turns, are standard and should already be known by the dancer who wishes to enroll in the class and teacher approval is necessary to move up. At this level the student is now able to work on performance as well as other jazz "tricks" across the floor because they have learned and mastered everything else.

Pre-pointe classes are offered to ballet students who are not yet on pointe to further develop and strengthen the muscles necessary to go en pointe. Registration for this class requires approval from your ballet teacher. Pointe students may also take this class en pointe to continue to strengthen their pointe work.

Ballet II
Movement from Ballet I to Ballet II requires teacher approval. Basic ballet technique is known in Ballet II and we are working to improve upon those skills. At this level you should be thinking about working towards pointe shoes if that is your goal. If so, registration in the pre-pointe class is recommended after you speak with your teacher and receive her recommendations. If you have been in level II and are looking to move up to level III, in 2 to 3 years instead of 3-5 years, enrollment in a second ballet class (Ballet I or Cecchetti I or II - Ms. Erica will evaluate for Cecchetti level placement for technique.)is necessary.

Galaxy Groovers
Galaxy Groovers is a beginning level class designed for the 7 – 11 year old. It is 1-hour beginning tap, ballet, and jazz combination class. Galaxy Groovers is the progression up from our 5-6 year old Shooting Stars class. Groovers usually stay in this class for 2-3 years before gaining teacher approval to move into a level 1 class.

Students will learn overall dance technique, basic barre and center floor exercises. French terminology is used in class. Students will gain insight to proper body posture, placement, and develop grace and poise throughout the class.
This Teen class is for dancers with limited ballet experience through intermediate/advanced ballet training. If you are a teen with no dance or ballet experience, we suggest taking Ballet I or Cecchetti I or II along with this Teen Ballet class for at least August through December. You can plan this out with your teacher and Ms. Erica in the office.
This class is an approved class for upper level ballet students looking to fit in 2 more ballet classes in their schedule.

Tumbling methods & tricks are taught while gaining overall muscle strength, flexibility, coordination, and balance.
Created by a successful studio owner with decades of experience, Acrobatic Arts runs training and certification courses for dance teachers in the art of Acro Dance. The program is based on safe and effective progressions with proven results in five divisions of Acro Dance: Flexibility, Strength, Balancing, Limbering and Tumbling. Developed with input from professionals and experts in ballet, modern dance, jazz, contortion, artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, sport acrobatics, yoga, acro yoga, pilates, physiotherapy, hand balancing and more, you will not find a more comprehensive program. Simple thoughtful progressions take the beginner preschool level dancer from log rolls and summersaults to the advanced dancer tumbling effortlessly across the stage! All our teachers follow the Acro Arts Progression program. Our lead Acro Arts and certified instructor in house is Leandra Saenz. Jennifer Hammer is our second certified Acrobatic Arts Instructor.

A great first-time dance experience for a parent and a child age 1.5 – 3 years old. Acro Arts Leaps and Turns
This class is a good addition for the dancer that wishes to work on their leaps and turns. The teacher will take you through some conditioning and stretching then work with doing combinations center and across the floor. The class is a compliment to ballet, jazz and contemporary. The age limit is set at 10 however we ask that the student be enrolled in acro, ballet, jazz or contemporary at level II.
