Modern (CME)
This class trains the artistic body using Limon and Horton technique as well as improvisation and creative movement. The concepts of falling, suspension and recovery, inversion, spirals, floor work and the dance elements of space, time, and energy will be engaged.

Class consists of technical warm-up, floor work, across the floor, improvisation and phrase work. Students are encouraged to focus on the feeling and quality of the movement instead of getting bogged down in the steps and exact forms.

Please wear dance or exercise clothes that cover your legs. Bare feet or socks are recommended. All are invited and welcome to take this class alongside City Modern Ensemble.

Alice in Wonderland Intent to Perform
Ballet levels Beginner 3 and up are welcome to perform in RBT’s productions of Alice in Wonderland. To indicate that your child will be performing, please fill out this form and return it to the front desk by Fri, Jan 26th. Everyone needs to return a filled-out form and needs to enroll on DanceStudio-Pro under the Alice 2024 tab on their dancer’s profile.
Requirements for Performing: There is a production fee of $100. The fee includes a YouTube link of the performance. Production fee is non-refundable for any reason. Payments can be made through RBT’s online registration program at https://dancestudio-pro.com/online/roanokeballet or by check to the tuition payment box next to the front desk. Must be available for rehearsals on Saturdays. Missing more than 2 rehearsals will result in removal from the cast. At least one representative from each family needs to choose a volunteering role. We cannot put on our shows without the help of volunteers! The signupgenius link will be sent in an email in a few weeks.

All students currently enrolled in classes at RBT will be part of the Student Recital that will be held on Sunday,
May 5th at 3pm at The Jefferson Center (with the exception of PBT, Adult Ballet, CME class).
Please email the RBT office if you did not intend to perform.
A production fee of $80 is due with April tuition on 4/5/24. This fee includes a YouTube link of the
performance, costume rental fees, etc. The production fee is non-refundable.
Volunteering is not required for the show but is encouraged and much appreciated for larger rehearsals. A link for volunteer
sign-ups will be sent out a month prior to the show.

The Beginner/Intermediate Acrobatic Dance Summer Intensive is intended for ages 6-12 who either are brand new to acrobatic dance or those who are working on standing up from their backbend on their own. All students should be prepared to learn new skills based on their readiness, which means while some will work on beginner tricks, others who are ready for intermediate tricks like front walkovers and back walkovers will practice those tricks with spots. Acrobatic Dance (“Acro”) is a dance practice that teaches strength, flexibility, and balance in order to push dance to the limits of possibility, incorporating acrobatic skills into choreography.
