Students require teacher recommendation/approval to enroll in Intro to Pointe and must be enrolled in at least 1 other ballet class (we highly recommend 2 ballet classes). Please email Miss Inga at inga.loujerenko@sbcglobal.net for approval.
A student must successfully demonstrate significant progression in leg and foot strength, balance, and clean and steady execution of exercises learned in Introduction to Pointe. Introduction to Pointe will include exercises at the barre as well as center work. Focus will be on learning to smoothly transition Pointe steps to form combinations, to continue to improve strength, and develop skills in executing more difficult movements.
Shoes required: Pre-Pointe or Pointe Shoes depending on teacher recommendation, double sided ribbon by Freed, needle & thread (white/pink), scissors, super glue (not gorilla glue) & toe pads. You can purchase at Movin' Easy for all pointe or pre-pointe shoes.
