Location
Twinkle Stars - Session 5
This class is full
A 45 minute class containing ballet, tap and jazz/creative movement. The purpose of the class is to introduce young dancers to the three styles of dance and inspire movement and creativity within a positive environment. Dancers will also learn basic steps and terminology in all three styles. For example, all dancers will learn what a “plie” is and how to demonstrate one. The use of fun, age appropriate music engages the young dancers’ minds and bodies. The use of props such as hula hoops for the “freeze dance” makes the end of class the most fun!

Jazz/Tap Combo - Session 5
Jazz dancing is energetic, fun and very technical. It consists of unique moves, big leaps and quick turns. To excel in jazz, dancers are recommended to take ballet, as it encourages grace, balance and share many of the same technical points.
DANCEWEAR: Convertible dance tights (theatrical pink/white), black bodysuit, black dance shorts or leggings. (BOYS: Black t-shirt and sweatpants/shorts)
SHOES: beige contemporary shoes (we are moving away from traditional jazz shoes)

Tap is an exciting form of dance in which dancers wear special shoes equipped with metal taps. Tap dancers use their feet like drums to create rhythmic patterns and beats. Tap is a style of dance perfect for students who want to learn rhythm, coordination and intricate footwork. Tap shoes are required for this style.
DANCEWEAR: Convertible dance tights (theatrical pink/white), black bodysuit, black dance shorts or leggings. (BOYS: Black t-shirt and sweatpants/shorts)

Our end-of-year goal is to transition all dancers to a class with no parents. If your child is ready on the first day, GREAT! If not, that’s alright too. We will work on their confidence together.
