Join Cathy IN THE STUDIO for a fun introductory class where students will learn the basic posture and foundational movement vocabulary of Bellydance. Practice movement transitions, variations and combinations. Instruction is always tailored to the needs of the students. All levels of experience welcome (even advanced students can benefit from practicing the basics!); no prior dance experience required. Students can benefit greatly from taking several sessions of beginner before moving to intermediate.

Intro to Bellydance for Seniors

Tailored to ages 50 plus, this class offers an introduction to Bellydance, also known as Oriental dance or Baladi.

Explore fluidity, grace, and strength through this ancient form developed in the Middle East. The fundamentals of posture, isolations, steps and accents of belly dance will be featured in this low-impact class that is suitable for all abilities, ages, and genders. As the class progresses, we may introduce dancing with veils and finger cymbals.

Registration for this class is through the Hobbs Centre. The cost will be $2.00 per class for Hobbs members and $4.00 per class for non-members (see https://hobbsseniorsclub.weebly.com/about.html for details about becoming a Hobbs club member).
