Bellydance with a focus on fitness. We will keep moving the whole 45 minutes of this class!
Among the many benefits of this class, you will experience a healthy cardio workout, strengthening of muscles required for strong dancing, and drills to help with faster transitions between dance moves. Classes will include a warm-up sequence to prepare the body, a half hour of dance drills to build the momentum or interval phases switching between fast-paced moves for cardio and graceful slow moves for recovery, and then close out with a cool down and stretch session.
There will be minimal technique explanations, so this is recommended for those with either a little prior experience, or who are happy to follow along without detailed movement breakdowns.

Come dance with Gwen online in a 1-hour intermediate class. In her classes, the focus will be on drills for strength and flexibility, Oriental dance movements and transitions, and then bringing it all together in a choreography which will help you learn to connect the movements to the music.

The spring session will feature use of the veil and a veil routine.

Beginner Bellydance and Basics Review: this fun 1-hour weekly class will cover the basic posture and foundational movement vocabulary of Belly Dance (aka. Oriental dance, Arab dance, Middle-Eastern dance, Baladi).

Learn and practice safe posture, body control, isolations, movement drills, transitions, variations and combinations. Cultural contextual information will also be presented.

All levels of experience welcome; no prior dance experience is required, but this class is also great for those with previous dance experience who want to review, practice, and perfect the basics.

Online Bellydance (Multi-Level) with Jocelyne/Jehane

Join Jocelyne ("Jehane") online in this 75-minute class to polish your technique through practice exercises and combos applicable to various Middle-Eastern dance styles (Bellydance, Oriental dance, Egyptian folklore, Lebanese folk, Arab Gulf).

Class will feature dance exercises to build strength and range of motion for body control and movement quality, and will always include a safe full-body warm-up and a satisfying cool-down and stretch at the end.

The technique drills and short combinations (with various layers and options) in this class are suitable for beginner to advanced level dancers who want to practice and polish their skills which can be applied to choreographies or your own improvisational dancing.

Interesting cultural and musical information will be shared, and props (finger cymbals, veil, stick, etc.) will be occasionally incorporated into the class.

Join Cathy online for a 90-minute class in classic cabaret Oriental dance (with the occasional folklore influence included); includes chest and abdominal isolations, layered moves, veil entrance moves, sagat/zills, arms, spins and more.

Practice elements, combinations, and a short routine that you could use to present your own solo suitable for a party or Arabic club/restaurant setting.

Costuming tips and cultural information will be included in this hour and a half long class.
