Advanced Hip Hop
Advanced classes are for those who have 5+ years of experience in certain styles as well as the capabilities and past performances throughout their time at the studio. These dancers focus on strengthening their technique and skills to a much higher level. This level is designed to give the necessary training to students wishing to study dance seriously, encouraging the technical requirements along with establishing artistry, musicality and feeling. New steps are introduced to further establish the dancer’s repertoire of skills , while the precision and line of the dancer is improved. These are fun and active classes focusing on body coordination and control to upbeat music. Combinations are rhythmic and lively, with choreographic challenge.  Hip-Hop is set to a strong, contemporary beat, builds stamina, emphasizes body isolations, attitude, coordination, free-style movement, and rhythm.

Beginner classes are for those who are looking to either try a new style of dance for the first time or to focus upon basic dance technique. They focus on basic movements of each individual style and work on the general movement of their body, their musicality and on learning and remembering choreography.

Adult Hip Hop
Beginner to Advanced, this class is perfect for anyone!
A high-energy dance form using the latest music mixed with movements that are influenced by some of today’s top video choreographers. Hip Hop is a broad collection of urban street dance styles including breaking, popping, locking, turfing, jerkin and krumping and often incorporates elements of freestlying. Classes will provide a structured method of learning various styles of movement in a fun and vibrant environment. Each class will incorporate dance combinations and routines and will encourage individual expression and personal style.

Beginning Ballet
Beginner classes are for those who are looking to either try a new style of dance for the first time or to focus upon basic dance technique. Ballet is the foundation of all dance; for this reason, we stress its importance. Classes focus on overall body alignment and awareness with emphasis on proper usage of feet and legs and execution of turnout. Traditional barre work, center work and combinations are included in all classes. Ballet classes are mandatory for competitive dancers.

Advanced classes are for those who have 5+ years of experience in certain styles as well as the capabilities and past performances throughout their time at the studio. These dancers focus on strengthening their technique and skills to a much higher level. This level is designed to give the necessary training to students wishing to study dance seriously, encouraging the technical requirements along with establishing artistry, musicality and feeling. New steps are introduced to further establish the dancer’s repertoire of skills , while the precision and line of the dancer is improved. Acro (acrobatics/tumbling) is centered on fundamental acrobatic technique to increase flexibility, strength, balance, coordination, endurance, timing, body awareness, self-discipline, and confidence. Classes focus on proper hand placement and body alignment with emphasis on the muscles and flexibility required to perform proper technique.

Intermediate/Advanced Acro
Beginner classes are for those who are looking to either try a new style of dance for the first time or to focus upon basic dance technique. An exciting and ever evolving dance form full of rhythm, syncopation, and passion. Acro (acrobatics/tumbling) is centered on fundamental acrobatic technique to increase flexibility, strength, balance, coordination, endurance, timing, body awareness, self-discipline, and confidence. Classes focus on proper hand placement and body alignment with emphasis on the muscles and flexibility required to perform proper technique.

Beginner to Advanced, this class is perfect for anyone!
Focuses on exercises, techniques and steps of classical ballet with an emphasis on terminology and correct body alignment. Develops an aesthetic awareness of the art of classical ballet. Includes a warm-up at the barre with center floor work and combinations.
Adults with Pointe experience may wear pointe shoes.

Intermediate classes are for those who have 2-4 years of experience in the style and the students with an increased expectation of proper technique and musicality. Students will focus on building the strength, flexibility and control needed to execute the style.  Each class will emphasize more technical combinations, across the floors and choreography. A fun form of dance wherein rhythmic sounds are created by the feet. Important to the all-round dancer it is an excellent means of increasing coordination of the mind and body. Tap also develops a sense of rhythm and timing which is essential to the development of every style of dance. This lively class includes terminology, exercises to warm and strengthen the ankles, floor combinations stressing precision and counting, and routines

Beginner classes are for those who are looking to either try a new style of dance for the first time or to focus upon basic dance technique. Contemporary dance is known for its versatility and creativity. It allows the use of a range of techniques and styles which result in an expressive use of the body as an art formation through rhythm, in space. The movement which involves the display of lines of energy in a dance style that is grounded, in contrast to the lightness of ballet. It uses the gravity and the swing of the body to create fluid movements using more release, ease, and freedom of design than traditional dance.

Beginner to Advanced, this class is perfect for anyone!

Jazz dance is an exploration of style and presentation. Rooted in the rhythm of jazz music, jazz dance is a true American art form. Includes a warm-up that develops strength, flexibility, coordination, and dance techniques specific to jazz dance. Includes dynamic choreography set to popular music and encourages individual expression and development of personal style.

Tap dance uses the sound of the tap shoes hitting the floor as a percussive instrument. Tap dance sharpens reflexes and improves memory skills and coordination. Beginning classes will work toward establishing fundamental tap movements, vocabulary and will work on basic rhythms and steps that progress into fun and lively dance combinations. More advanced classes will involve more intricate rhythms and combinations. Tap dancing is a great way to develop musicality, timing and balance.

Intermediate classes are for those who have 2-4 years of experience in the style and the students with an increased expectation of proper technique and musicality. Students will focus on building the strength, flexibility and control needed to execute the style.  Each class will emphasize more technical combinations, across the floors and choreography. An exciting and ever evolving dance form full of rhythm, syncopation, and passion. Jazz has grown into a technique focused on extensions, turns, and jumps. The class provides a progressive system of exercises for physical toning, strengthening, isolations and placement.  Included are terminology, barre and/or center floor warm-up, floor and corner progressions, turns, jumps and routines.

Pointe
After sufficient ballet study and proper muscle development, students age 10 and over may be eligible. Due to the demands that pointe work places on the body, students must have the necessary strength in their core, legs, ankles and feet, as well as meeting the necessary class requirements and passing a studio evaluation to be considered for this advanced class.

Competition Team
Competition Team is only allowed to be booked if approved by the instructor (Alyssa).
The competition team has practice twice a week from October 2022 - December 2022, then will have practice up to 3x/week from January 2022-May 2022. The team will preform at multiple events around the Akron/Cleveland/Canton area as well as attend up to 4 competitions throughout the year and two dances per competition. (More dances can be performed at extra cost). This also includes the competition costumes.

Competition Team dancers are granted unlimited classes (Costumes not included) throughout the week. Competition Team Dancers at a minimum must be enrolled in Ballet, Contemporary and a third style of their choice.

When registering for competition team, please let Alyssa or any other staff member know what classes will be taken throughout the week.
