Technique/ Conditioning III/IV
Founded in the structure of classical dance, dance technique is an important building block for the student wanting to be the very best dancer they can be. Dance technique works on fundamentals developed in the disciplines of ballet. We call it technique because we direct our attention toward Lyrical Modern dance rather than the strict structure of Classical Ballet. Flow of movement, alignment, and strength building technique are the focus of this essential course of study. Beginning students work on the fundamental positions, posture, feet execution, basic jumps, and basic turns. Intermediate and advanced students work on advanced footwork, extension, turns, leaps, and jumps.
