FLASH PT Company
The Element Part-Time Company is for dancers who are looking for a more intensive performance-based dance education, but are not technically ready or do not wish to commit as many training hours as the Full-Time Company. Dancers in the PT Dance Company will train a minimum of 3 hours/week, which will give students the preparatory skills necessary to advance to a Full-Time Company Member if they choose. It may take anywhere from one to a number of years to advance to Full Time Company - for those wishing to advance faster, we recommend taking additional dance classes, particularly Ballet. Please contact the office if you wish to gain more information on which classes would be best suited.

This year we have technique classes specifically designed for our Part Time Companies to set them up for success - to help improve their technique and advance their level.

The first step to becoming a successful dancer is making a solid commitment to your classes, rehearsals, and performances. Strong technique is a key ingredient and class is where you develop that technique. Come to each class prepared to learn and without personal distractions. True progress is made when you look at each class, rehearsal, or performance as an opportunity to become better at what you love to do. Dance full-out, stretch a little further, become more aware of your technique, and make the most of every class.
Dancers in the PT Company program will follow the A.D.A.P.T Syllabus and have the opportunity to compete in one mandatory competition, with an optional second and/or third competition, along with other performance opportunities and recitals. Both competitions will be local, with a possibility of an away competition.

PT Company Members perform in jazz and hip hop, with the option of competing in a variety of other styles. Company members will train a minimum of 3 hours/week. Many of our dancers take additional classes at Element, and we encourage our Part Time dancers to supplement their training with additional classes.

PT Company dancers will compete a minimum of 2 numbers.

PRE PROFESSIONAL PROGRAM
Element Pre-Professional Program (PPP) is an invite only program that aims to bridge the gap between studio training and the professional world. Offered to students who show potential for training above and beyond, Element PPP is designed to provide the skills, perspective, and insight necessary to pursue professional opportunities in dance as an educator, performer or choreographer. Participants will take an extra class each week of technical training in various styles, learn about the dance world outside of the scope of movement, as well as receive the individual attention necessary to fine tune the artistry of their dance. PPP includes a variety of unique opportunities for students to learn and grow into effective dance professionals. Participants might be found organizing a year-long performance project, shadowing other dance classes of various ages, or dancing alongside their teachers! Under the Direction of Janelle Warren Konowal and Brittney McCarthy, dancers are selected for the program on an individual basis, and must be 12+ to be considered for this program. Dancers who wish to attend the program who are not currently attending Element Dance Studio can apply for the program by contacting info@elementdancestudio.ca.
