All pointe classes are designed for students with previous ballet training. Students must be in either Level C or D to be placed in this class and recommended for the class by the Artistic Director. Students must have successfully complete the Beginner/Advanced Beginner Level pointe class. Students will utilize previously learned ballet technique while working in pointe shoes. Each class includes barre exercises. Students will work on center floor work and across the floor combinations. These exercises focus on strengthening the feet and ankles.

Students in this class must also be enrolled in either Ballet C or Ballet D class, variations technique class, and one other technique class.

Students wear leotard, tights, and pointe shoes. Hair in a bun.

This modern class will incorporate many of the foundations of modern dance technique styles, including suspension and release, fall and recovery, the use of momentum and connecting breath with movement. For this ballet class students must have successfully completed the Level A curriculum which is typically a two year curriculum. Students will learn classical ballet techniques and terminology. Each class includes barre exercises, center floor work, and across-the-floor combinations. The ballet curriculum is based on a combination of the French, Vagonova and RAD methods.

*****Students in Ballet B must also take the Beginner/Advanced Beginner Variations Technique class AND 1 other technique class to further practice and develop skills taught in ballet class. This level Ballet Class would enroll in the Beginner/Advanced Beginner Level Turns and Leaps Class or a Flexibility Class for their 2 technique class.

This Jazz class will focus on continuing to advance proper dance technique such as isolations of the body, improving performance quality and advancing complex rhythms and patterns. Students will be exposed to various styles of jazz such as Broadway, Street and Contemporary to help develop a well rounded dancer. Class curriculum is based on ballet technique layered with traditional jazz movement and includes a proper warm-up, stretches, isolations, across-the-floor progressions, and combinations.
Students must complete successfully Beginner, Advanced Beginner, Beginner Intermediate, and Intermediate Level jazz classes. Students at this level focus on complex and intricate turn sequences with style and speed while progressing through this advanced level curriculum will become increasingly more complex and intricate and speed/tempo with movement with increase. At this level improv becomes a part of the curriculum to allow students to explore feelings and emotions within their movements.

This tap & jazz class is for students ages 10+ that have successful completed the Tap & Jazz A Beginner level class. In this class students will continue to learn, improve, and strengthen their ankle flexibility and weight shifting abilities through a warm up routine. Students will be guided through the fundamentals in order to build a strong tap foundation that not only focuses on learning the skills but developing excellent tap technique and sound quality. In jazz students will continue to work on strength and flexibility through a warm up focusing on leg extensions and developing splits. Various across the floor or traveling movements will be introduced and practiced for weight shifting and expanding skill knowledge. Students will work on turns introduced in Tap & Jazz A and master inside and outside single pirouette turns. The advanced beginner tap & jazz syllabus typically takes 2-3 years to successfully complete.

Black Tap shoes and Black jazz shoes are required for this class.

Variations class is the study of solo dances from historically established classical ballet repertoire. They were created to highlight the artistic and technical skill of soloists and principal dancers in classical companies.

Students must be enrolled in Ballet A or B level class to participate. This class is required for all students enrolled in Ballet B and is recommended for students in Ballet A.

Students wear a leotard, tights, and pink ballet shoes. Hair in bun.

Technique, Leaps, and Turns, is a class created for the dancer who wishes to give extra attention to improving their technique. This class is for the intermediate and advanced level dancers in a C or D level class.

This class meets the Ballet C & D technique class requirement.

Students must be invited by the Artistic Director to participate in this class and have successfully completed Ballet Levels A & B.
Students must be enrolled in a ballet class, variations class, and a technique class.
Pre-pointe students will further develop and strengthen the muscles necessary to be successful en pointe. Pre-pointe classes stress correct alignment and correct classical ballet technique. Students learn how to properly care for, sew, and put on their pointe shoes, They also learn about healthy foot care for happy feet when going up on pointe. During the season students will begin to work on exercises at the barre to begin the process of learning how to dance en pointe.

Students wear leotard, tights, and pink ballet shoes. Hair in a bun. When given approval by the instructor during the season students will advance to pointe shoes.

It is suggested that students take a technique class to compliment this class.

Single & double pullbacks, traditional wings, toe stands and various time steps are mastered in this tap syllabus. Students work on musicality and improvisation. The beginner intermediate tap & jazz syllabus typically takes 2-3 years to successfully complete.

It is recommended that students get the oxford style full sole tap shoe for more stability and better sound quality at this level.

Students will begin each class working on their ballet technique, lines, and improving their overall body strength at the barre. The class will learn petite allegro patterns, adagio, develop and grow in their strength and flexibility, and work on turn and leap variations for more defined foot work.

*****Students must be enrolled in the Variations Intermediate/Advanced Technique class AND 1 other technique class to further develop skills taught in this ballet class.

This tap class is for teens at an advanced tap level and successfully completed the intermediate/advanced intermediate tap syllabus. In this class students will continue to learn, improve, and strengthen their ankle flexibility and weight shifting abilities through a warm up routines that incorprate speed and various rhythmic patterns. Students will continue to work on improving speed and mastery of more challenging rhythmic patterns and skills. Students will take their tap improvisation abilities to a much higher level within tap jams, taping out spoken word, and portraying emotions with their tap sounds. To participate in this class students must have mastered the Advanced Intermediate Tap Syllabus and be able to do traditional wings, double wings, crossing wings, single & double pullbacks, 5 count pullbacks, one foot pullbacks, and single/double/triple/quadtruple and traveling time steps with solid tap technique and sound quality. Students should be working on or have mastery of one foot wings. The class will continue to advance in learning new tap skills with proper technique and sound quality. This class will also work on picking up tap choreography and progress with choreography at a rapid pace.

In soft shoe students will continue to focus on proper technique, drills, and traditional Irish step reels and jigs. In hard shoe students will learn the basic fundamentals for proper technique through drills and learning skills in traditional Irish Step dance.

Tap & Jazz B - Advanced Beginner

This tap & jazz class is for students ages 10+ that have successful completed the Tap & Jazz A Beginner level class. In this class students will continue to learn, improve, and strengthen their ankle flexibility and weight shifting abilities through a warm up routine. Students will be guided through the fundamentals in order to build a strong tap foundation that not only focuses on learning the skills but developing excellent tap technique and sound quality. In jazz students will continue to work on strength and flexibility through a warm up focusing on leg extensions and developing splits. Various across the floor or traveling movements will be introduced and practiced for weight shifting and expanding skill knowledge. Students will work on turns introduced in Tap & Jazz A and master inside and outside single pirouette turns. The advanced beginner tap & jazz syllabus typically takes 2-3 years to successfully complete.

Black Tap shoes and Black jazz shoes are required for this class.

Variations class is the study of solo dances from historically established classical ballet repertoire. They were created to highlight the artistic and technical skill of soloists and principal dancers in classical companies.

Students must be enrolled in Ballet A or B level class to participate. This class is required for all students enrolled in Ballet B and is recommended for students in Ballet A.

Students wear a leotard, tights, and pink ballet shoes. Hair in bun.

Technique, Leaps, and Turns, is a class created for the dancer who wishes to give extra attention to improving their technique. This class will focus on the proper execution of intermediate & advanced leaps and turns and will include leap combinations and turn sequences. This class is for the intermediate and advanced level dancers in a C or D level class.

This class meets the Ballet C & D technique class requirement.

Students must complete the Pre Ballet 1 class in the 2019-2020 season to be placed in this class or have approval from the artistic director for this class placement.

Students wear any color leotard and tights, and pink ballet shoes. Hair in a braid or bun.

Students must be invited by the Artistic Director to participate in this class and have successfully completed Ballet Levels A & B.
Students must be enrolled in a ballet class, variations class, and a technique class.
Pre-pointe students will further develop and strengthen the muscles necessary to be successful en pointe. Pre-pointe classes stress correct alignment and correct classical ballet technique. Students learn how to properly care for, sew, and put on their pointe shoes, They also learn about healthy foot care for happy feet when going up on pointe. During the season students will begin to work on exercises at the barre to begin the process of learning how to dance en pointe.

Students wear leotard, tights, and pink ballet shoes. Hair in a bun. When given approval by the instructor during the season students will advance to pointe shoes.

It emphasizes interpretation of music lyrics while telling a story with movement that can be fluid or abstract. At this level movements are increasingly more complex and intricate.
It is suggested that students take a technique class to compliment this class.

This class would be a great accompaniment class to any style of dance.

This modern class will introduce many of the foundations of modern dance technique styles, including suspension and release, fall and recovery, the use of momentum and connecting breath with movement. Dancers will explore new ways of moving in combinations, floor work and partnering, and also in various methods of improvisation.
Must be 10 years old to enroll in this class.

For this ballet class students must have successfully completed the Level A curriculum which is typically a two year curriculum. Students will learn classical ballet techniques and terminology. Each class includes barre exercises, center floor work, and across-the-floor combinations. The ballet curriculum is based on a combination of the French, Vagonova and RAD methods.

*****Students in Ballet A class must also take 1 technique class to further develop skills taught in this ballet class.
It is highly recommended that students in this class take the Variations class for elementary age and a second technique class to get the most out of their weekly ballet instruction.

Single & double pullbacks, traditional wings, toe stands and various time steps are mastered in this tap syllabus. Students work on musicality and improvisation. The beginner intermediate tap & jazz syllabus typically takes 2-3 years to successfully complete.

It is recommended that students get the oxford style full sole tap shoe for more stability and better sound quality at this level.

This ballet class is for students 12 and older that have previously been enrolled in a Pre Ballet 1, Pre Ballet 2, or Ballet A & B class. Students will begin each class working on their ballet technique, lines, and improving their overall body strength at the barre. The class will learn petite allegro patterns, adagio, develop and grow in their strength and flexibility, and work on turn and leap variations for more defined foot work.

*****Students must be enrolled in the Variations Intermediate/Advanced Technique class AND 1 other technique class to further develop skills taught in this ballet class.

This tap class is for teens at an advanced tap level and successfully completed the intermediate/advanced intermediate tap syllabus. In this class students will continue to learn, improve, and strengthen their ankle flexibility and weight shifting abilities through a warm up routines that incorprate speed and various rhythmic patterns. Students will continue to work on improving speed and mastery of more challenging rhythmic patterns and skills. Students will take their tap improvisation abilities to a much higher level within tap jams, taping out spoken word, and portraying emotions with their tap sounds. To participate in this class students must have mastered the Advanced Intermediate Tap Syllabus and be able to do traditional wings, double wings, crossing wings, single & double pullbacks, 5 count pullbacks, one foot pullbacks, and single/double/triple/quadtruple and traveling time steps with solid tap technique and sound quality. Students should be working on or have mastery of one foot wings. The class will continue to advance in learning new tap skills with proper technique and sound quality. This class will also work on picking up tap choreography and progress with choreography at a rapid pace.

In soft shoe students will continue to focus on proper technique, drills, and traditional Irish step reels and jigs. In hard shoe students will learn the basic fundamentals for proper technique through drills and learning skills in traditional Irish Step dance.
