THURS 7:30-9 PM Ballet 4 + Pre-Pointe/Pointe (13+yrs)
Level 4 = ADVANCED
Students will learn classical ballet positions, technique and terminology, as dancers develop poise, grace, and confidence. Each class includes barre exercises, center floor work, and across-the-floor combinations. For students working on Pre-Pointe and Pointe, Pointe shoes are required.

Instructor permission required BEFORE being placed "En Pointe". Students must have reached technical and physical readiness in order to participate "En Pointe". Students are usually at ages 11-13 years old due to the ossification in their feet, to reduce injury, and assure that they have had proper training prior to going "En Pointe".

**All Level 3 and Level 4 Ballet students will be required to take a minimum of two (2) Level 3, Level 3/4 or Level 4 Ballet classes per week in order to remain at these higher levels. Level 4 dancers are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to take Ballet (and Pointe, when appropriate) 3-4 times/per week. Students may choose which days/times work best for their two (2) required classes, but this is the standard to attend Ballet Level 3 or Ballet Level 4 at Sound Movement Arts Center. Thank you.**

This camp is for kids who love Taylor Swift and are interested in dancing and movement games. Dance styles will include Hip Hop and Jazz. Campers will learn choreography for a mini showcase open to families on the last day of camp. They will have a blast dancing to their favorite Swift songs, while creating themed crafts.

Beginners are welcome. No experience necessary. Please send a healthy snack and labeled water bottle for your child each day.

What To Wear: Dance/athletic clothing and shoes. See studio dress code https://smactac.com/dress-code/ for more info.

What to Bring: A dance bag with Clean Sneakers for Hip Hop and Jazz Shoes each day. ONLY CLEAN Sneakers (used only for dance class - not worn outside) will be allowed inside the dance rooms. Please bring extra shoes each day too (in the event campers go outside). We sell dance apparel and shoes at SMAC, if you need something.

What to Know: Please read our Code of Conduct: https://smactac.com/code-of-conduct/

Camp Prep: We recommend that you talk to your kiddo about DANCE CAMP in advance and that Mommy/Daddy/Guardian will not be in Dance Camp with them, but that they will be close by (we suggest waiting in the lobby, as bathroom trips may need your help - if this is not possible, please let us know and we will have our camp helpers assist your child). This tends to help prepare them for being in a new environment without you (especially if this is their first class/camp experience).

If your child is not willing to enter the studio without you, you may come in for a short time to help ease them into the setting. However, we ask that parents follow the rules of the classroom as given by the instructor(s) and that they let themselves out once the child is comfortable. Thank you for your cooperation and help with this delicate matter. We want this to be the best dance camp experience for everyone and it starts with you!

This camp is for kids who love Under The Sea creatures and are interested in dancing and movement games. Dance styles will include Ballet and Jazz. Campers will learn choreography for a mini showcase open to families on the last day of camp. They will learn about life under the sea while creating Under The Sea themed crafts.

Beginners are welcome. No experience necessary. Please send a healthy snack and labeled water bottle for your child each day.

What To Wear: Dance/athletic clothing and shoes. See studio dress code https://smactac.com/dress-code/ for more info.

What to Bring: A dance bag with clean Ballet and/or Jazz Shoes each day (campers do not need both and can wear either Jazz or Ballet shoes for the dancing portion of camp) AND sneakers (in the event campers go outside).

*Online Registration closes one (1) week prior to the start of camp OR when camp capacity limits have been reached. No exceptions. A NON-REFUNDABLE Summer Camp 2024 Registration Fee of $10 will be due upon enrollment. Account credit will be given to any student needing to withdraw prior to the Registration Deadline (1) weeks prior to the camp start date. Refunds will not be given for missed days or withdrawal after the camp deadline, as space in each camp is limited. Please call (253) 924-9977 or email info@smactac.com with questions. Thank you.
