ACRO Acrobatics (Acro) teaches flexibility, balance, strength, muscle control, discipline and concentration. This class will focus on fundamental acrobatic technique. Students will learn such things as handstands, chin stands, elbow stands, cartwheels, back bends, walkovers, balance, & contortion tricks. Acro is not the typical tumbling or gymnastics class. This class is great for students looking to enhance their agility, flexibility and strength.

CHEER A basic/beginning cheer class that will introduce students to the fun world of Cheerleading! Each week this class works on entry level stunts, basic tumble, jumps, motions, cheers, chants and dances. No experience needed, just come ready to have a great time! Use of poms and drill choreography will be taught.

Hip Hop is a high-energy class that infuses the latest styles of street dancing, breaking, popping, locking and free-style movement that will be a focus of this athletic and energetic dance style. Classes will encourage students to step outside of the box by bringing their own individual style and personality to the movements.

Skills such as leaps and turns are incorporated into choreographed routines. Students will be exposed to various styles of jazz such as Broadway, Street and Contemporary to help develop a well rounded dancer.

They will learn to express themselves through song lyrics and improve their musicality while blending ballet technique with jazz styles. Skills such as leaps and turns are incorporated into choreographed routines. *Tricks, Turns and Leaps technique class is highly recommended for students in this class.

ACRO A basic/beginning level class. In this class the focus is on handstands, forward / backward rolls, bridges, tables, cartwheels, round-off's and walkovers. Students will be given group and one on one instruction while rotating in stations to practice each technique taught. When your student is proficient he or she will be moved to the next level class.

TRICKS, TURNS, LEAPS An Intermediate/advanced technique class that will increase your flexibility, strength, endurance, and enhance proper dance techniques. Emphasis on teaching the proper building blocks for Jazz, Lyrical and Contemporary jumps, leaps, turns, and tricks. *This class is for skills growth only and does not participate in the Recital. Take your dance training to the next level with this class!

ACRO An intermediate/advanced class. This class is a skills building class where front and back handsprings, aerials, tucks and connected tumble passes are mastered. This class will take standing tumble and connect the skills to form tumble passes using up to two and three skills. This class is a combination of hands on spotting from our qualified instructors, tumbler self progression stations and group instruction.

2018 Santa Parade Practice!
Join Sound Movement Arts Center in this awesome event on Sunday, December 2 at 4:30 PM on 6th Avenue! Students (ages 6+) from SMAC can join in the PARADE FUN along with Dance Team/Company Members. Participants will learn a simple, but fun routine which will be performed during the parade. Get out your dancing shoes and join us! Parade Practices will be held on November 3, 10, 17 from 4-5:30 PM. There is $30 Participation Fee, per person. *There may be an additional rehearsal on Saturday, December 1 from 4-5:30pm. **Attendance at all 3 November practices is mandatory to participate. Personalized SMAC "Live Love Dance" Gray Hoodies will be worn and will be $50/per person. Sizing will be done at November 3 rehearsal. Payment must be made in full by November 3. *If your kiddo already has a Gray "Live Love Dance" Hoodie, they do not need to re-order. Thanks!
