Flexibility/Strength/Conditioning II
Low, medium and high intensity exercises designed to warm-up the entire body and to strengthen the core. Recommended for all dancers. Includes circuit training and cardio and finishes with core training and stretching for a complete workout. Some equipment is required for this class (yoga mat, blocks, thera-bands, etc.). These exercises will be tailored for the younger dancer.

Pointe
Students must be 12 years old and must take two 1.5 hour ballet classes each week. Each student must have approval of the studio director to participate. This is a preparation class for dancers interested in pointe. This 45 minute class will work on foot and ankle exercises in preparation for full pointe work. New students to pointe class: please be properly fitted for pointe shoes at a reputable dance apparel store. Miss Laurene will approve your choice before you sew on ribbons and dance in them.

Movements in lyrical dance are characterized by fluidity and grace with the dancer flowing seamlessly from one move to another. The lyrics of a song serve as an inspiration for movements and expressions.

Tap is a percussive dance style in which the students learn how to make rhythmical sounds with their tap shoes. There is a strong emphasis on musicality, as well. Tap is a dynamic style of dance that has new steps combining and emerging into complex rhythms.
