Beginning Ballet (4&5yrs, Monday, Worser Bay LSC)
(4-5 year olds, 1x 1/2 hour class/week) Starting to think about line, shapes, rhythms, patterns and use of space. This class prepares the building blocks for RAD Pre Primary in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Parents/Caregivers must stay and observe for the duration of the class.
Uniform requirements:
The children may wear anything they would like to and are able to move freely in. Ballet shoes are a bonus but are not compulsory.

Option A – Lavender leotard and chiffon skirt. Pink ballet socks and pink ballet shoes with elastic.
Option B – White t-shirt and black ballet shorts (loose fitting style). White socks and white ballet shoes.
(5 years by 1st September, 1x 45min class/week). Students begin wearing a ballet uniform and work towards participating in a presentation class with their teacher later in the year as an introduction to ballet exams. They study elements of classical ballet and also imaginative movement sequences.

Jazz Elementary 1 (10-12yrs, Monday, Worser Bay LSC)
10-12yrs olds (1x1 hour class/week) - Jazz uses ballet technique basics as well as introducing jazz fundamentals such as isolations etc. We are proud to offer students study of the AJDANZ syllabus and the class will be involved in the end of year production.
Uniform Requirements: Available from Gubbs's Jazz & Ballet (Wakefield St, Wellington)
Black lycra singlet top leotard, black bike pants and black jazz shoes. Hair should be done in a high ponytail.
10-12yrs olds (1x1 hour class/week) - Jazz uses ballet technique basics as well as introducing jazz fundamentals such as isolations etc. We are proud to offer students study of the AJDANZ syllabus and the class will be involved in the end of year production.

Option B – White short-sleeved leotard, black stirrup tights. White socks, white ballet shoes.

RAD Intermediate Syllabus. Tuesdays 1.5hr class (includes 15mins stretch at the end) and Thursdays 1.25hrs.
Both classes include pointe work. I highly recommend that students wishing to enter for the exam attend the Senior Open class on Wednesdays to be better equipped to pick up free enchainment vocabulary.
