Conditioning
We will work with our students to increase endurance, strength, stability, flexibility, and alignment. We will also look at nutrition, hydration, and anatomy. Increasing athleticism will help them to grow as dancers and athletes. Proper attire for this class is activewear, flat soled shoes, and hair securely pulled back.

Hip Hop 11 & Under
This beginning Hip Hop class will work on rhythm and basic hip hop moves in a fun and high energy environment, learning a variety of techniques, styles, and moves as they are exposed to different styles of hip hop, battling, and improvisation. These students will have the opportunity to participate in the June recital. Proper dress for this class is comfortable clothes and tennis shoes.

Tap Technique 3
This tap class is intended for students with previous tap experience. Benchmark skills for Tap 2 students are the following: mastered seven time steps, toe stands, paradiddles, and riffs. They should be beginning improvisation and have a basic understanding of musicality. If you have questions about which tap level you should be in, please contact the office staff to schedule a placement evaluation. Our tap program focuses on rhythm and musicality along with technique and tap history as we work both combinations and improvisation. Students have the opportunity to participate in the June recital. Proper dress for this class is tap shoes, a leotard or other formfitting dancewear and hair securely tied up out of face.

This ballet l class is designed for our younger dancers who have completed Combo Class. They will work on beginning ballet technique at bar and center as well as musicality and movement as they begin to explore improvisation. Students in this class will have the opportunity to participate in the June recital. Proper dress for this class is ballet shoes, a Lavender Leotard, pink tights and hair securely tied up in a bun or ponytail.

Tumbling Level 1/2
This class is for students who are new to tumbling. They will be working on back bends, cartwheels, splits and other beginner/intermediate skills. Tumblers will also work on front-overs, and back-overs. These students have the opportunity to participate in MATS and the June recital. Proper dress for this class is leotard or dance top and dance shorts with hair securely tied up out of face.

This class is for students with previous experience. We will be working on barre work, stretches, arm and leg placements of advanced steps and conditioning the in between movements. Students have the opportunity to participate in the June recital. Proper dress for this class is ballet shoes with Plum leotard and pink tights with hair in a secure bun. Jazz 2
This jazz class is intended for students with previous jazz experience. Benchmark skills for Jazz 2 students are the following: mastered straight knees and turnout in battements as well as chaine and pique turns, single coupe and consistent clean single pirouettes working on doubles, knowledge of all ballet positions, will be working on leaps, splits, transitions, and fluidity. If you have questions about which jazz level you should be in, please contact the office staff to schedule a placement evaluation. Jazz classes focus on stretching, conditioning, and technique work while learning a variety of high-energy choreographies. Students have the opportunity to participate in the June recital. Jazz 3
This jazz class is intended for students with previous jazz experience. Students enrolling in this class must have mastered the skills from Jazz 2. They must have consistent clean triple pirouettes, working on quads, multiple turns in coupe, a la seconde and pique turns, along with spinning disks, center leaps, reverse leaps, and switch leaps, we will also focus on transitions, more difficult choreography and combinations. If you have questions about which jazz level you should be in, please contact the office staff to schedule a placement evaluation. Jazz classes focus on stretching, conditioning, and technique work while learning a variety of high-energy choreographies. Students have the opportunity to participate in the June recital. Contemporary dance is an interpretation of many dance styles including Modern, Ballet and Jazz. Creative freedom is a major focus of contemporary dance, while holding firm to classical techniques learned in ballet. This is an invitation only class. Benchmark skills for Level 5 are the following: roundoff back aerial and at least one other aerial. Most tumblers can do a roundoff back handspring back, an aerial cartwheel and are working on an aerial front walkover. Tumblers are working on all aerials from step hop to standing and row work. Tumblers should have advanced limber skills. Tumblers are working on multiple back work and starting front work. This class is exclusively for Valley View Students. Tumblers may not be taking classes at any other dance studios to enter this class. All tumblers entering this class must audition and receive coach’s approval. These students have the opportunity to participate in MATS and the June recital. Proper dress for this class is leotard or dance top and dance shorts with hair securely tied up out of face.

This class is by teacher recommendation only. This class is intended for our advanced ballet students. We will continue our Pre Pointe work as we work through the feet, prepping for pointe and learning the best ways to get ready for pointe. Benchmark stills for Pointe are the following: must have advanced ballet training, knowing all the positions of ballet and have completed the Pre Pointe class. Proper dress for this class is transitional pointe shoes, pointe shoes, black leotard and pink tights with hair securely tied up in a clean bun.
