Class Level Descriptions:
Fundamentals classes- introductory dance classes for ages 3-7

Level 1 Classes- beginner level classes for ages 8 and up; ballet is a requirement for contemporary, lyrical, acro & jazz at this level

Level 2- intermediate level classes for ages 10 and up with placement class required; ballet is a requirement for contemporary, lyrical, acro & jazz at this level

Level 3+ - high intermediate/advanced level classes for ages 12 and up by invitation only, ballet is a requirement for contemporary, lyrical, acro & jazz at this level, ballet twice per week is a requirement for pointe (pre-pointe is a prerequisite)

Cornerstone Ballet Company Tech & Repertoire
Cornerstone Ballet: Give purpose to your artistry by using your gifts and talents for ministry in our community and abroad. This class prepares dancers for performance of original repertoire, leading devotions, vacation Bible schools and children’s dance workshops that glorify God.

Mondays: 4:30-8:30pm
Our trainee program offers dancers from ages 10-18 training opportunities by audition. Trainee levels range from apprentice to company member, each level requiring a greater level of commitment and technical skill.

Apprentice (approx. age 10+): takes at least 2+ hours of ballet per week, attends all company classes & predetermined rehearsals, corps & understudy opportunities, assists in costume changes/stage tech/set at performances

Trainee (approx. age 12+): takes at least 3+ hours of ballet per week, TA opportunities, attends all company classes & rehearsals, corps & understudy opportunities, assists in costume changes/stage tech/set at performances, may have opportunities to travel with company,

Company (approx. age 14+): takes at least 4+ hours of ballet per week, TA and/or instructor opportunities, studio use available, attends all company classes & rehearsals, performs locally & abroad, lead after-show missions projects: workshops/camps, leads devotions/discussions/testimonies, etc.

Guest Artists/Performers: may be either contracted professional artists/preprofessional artists or volunteer community members (adults-children) casting calls for theatrical and/or character roles, audition and/or costuming rental/cleaning fees may be due,

Application & Audition Process

*Acceptance to Cornerstone Ballet Company’s trainee program is by audition only. Scholarships and financial aid are available as funding permits.

1. We accept applications throughout the year. Complete & return your application to CornerstoneBalletDirector@gmail.com.

2. Audition video: Submit a 5 min. (max) audition video via youtube or google drive link to CornerstoneBalletDirector@gmail.com by the deadline.

a. Include: Opening scene w/ dancer clearly stating name and age to associate with application

b. In center (facing camera): Plies (1st, 2nd, 5th), tendu (5th), adage w/ arabesque, petite allegro, pirouettes

c. Age 12+ (pointe): Releve’ (1st, 2nd, 5th), pique’ arabesque, retire’ balance

3. In-person Audition: In-person auditions will be scheduled and recommended based on video auditions. In-person auditions will be scheduled upon acceptance of video audition. Company Commitment & Financial Forms are due at live auditions.

Primary Acro
The beauty of dance combined with the athleticism of acrobatics! ! An introductory class designed for ages 5-8 years old to increase strength and flexibility and introduce acrobatic elements of contemporary dance. This is a performance class!

What is Acro dance? Acro-Dance is the beautiful fusion of the artistic motion of dance and the athleticism of acrobatics. Often defined by its unique choreography, Acro-Dance blends seamlessly classic dance styles with acrobatic movement. The dance styles can be really anything, from a fast paced jazz routine to a slow and beautiful lyrical, or a contemporary piece.

It is important to note that Acro-Dance is not the same as Gymnastics and there is a need to teach Acro skills differently than Gymnastics skills. Dance training is essential to the success of the Acro-Dancer!

Musical Theater for Everyone (ages 8-adults)
A fun class blending singing, acting, and dancing. Students learn excerpts, lines and routines from Broadway musicals. Students may need jazz or tap shoes.

Performance includes multiple costumes and accessories for various roles. An additional $75 costuming fee to cover multiple costumes/accessories (will show as "Class Registration Fee") is due for this class upon enrollment.
