BattleMasters Ages 6-up
Using safe, padded weapons, our BattleMasters will teach ages 6-up basic blade movement/handling skills, footwork, patterns, and block sets during regular classes. In addition to physical training, regular battle games are conducted to challenge the learners and give all the training meaning. In addition to the physical activities, emphasis will be placed on developing the high virtues of Discipline, Humility, Honor, and more as students progress through the levels of Initiate, Squire, Apprentice, and finally Knight. Dance With Me Class
Dance With Me is a terrific parent assisted class time for pre-school age children 2-3 years of age. Our toddlers to initiate their own ideas and explore their creativity. Our class offers great outlets for your toddler's energy through singing, dancing, and instrument play. Parents and caregivers enjoy meeting and interacting with others who are also experiencing the joys and complexities of these busy years with a toddler. What do we do in Dance With Me Class? - Explore movement concepts and participate in musical interactions with objects and other people - Discover instruments can make sounds and experience musical concepts - Identify and learn about using our voice to imitate sounds - Singing songs with language patterns that explore rhythm, speech sounds, syntax, and rhyme Skills & Benefits of our class offer toddlers an increased alertness, self-control, and ability to regulate their own movements, develop strong muscles for posture and balance with improved coordination and locomotor skills, fine motor skills, and hand strength. Dance With Me students develop their ability to memorize, sequence, and predict patterns which in turn will help them develop early pre-literacy and number skills. Students wear comfortable play clothing to the lessons until they want to purchase dance wear. Adult participants wear comfortable exercise wear and ballet shoes. We carry a nice assortment of dance wear for all ages and sizes and dance shoes for toddlers to adults in our in-studio boutique. Drawing - Intermediate & Advanced
Drawing - Int/Adv. (ages 12+) - This is a short course aimed at developing sketching and drawing skills for young artists. We use a variety of objects and subjects to spark the artists creativity and imagination while using traditional media such as pencil, charcoal, color pencils, etc. Students learn the techniques of shading, highlighting, textures, pressure techniques, and more. They will create many sketches and finished drawings on subjects that range from still life, landscapes and animals. All materials are provided. Students should understand that this class will be working with various art media and should wear clothing that is appropriate for the class or bring a smock with them to the class.

Fine Arts Discovery
Fine Arts Discovery Class - (ages 6-9) This is a delightful introduction to the fine arts for our youngest artists ages 6-9. We will explore all different types of media throughout the season so students will have terrific experience using pencils, chalks, oil pastels, watercolors, acrylics, clay, mosaics, fabrics, beads, papers, crafting and much more. A wide variety of projects will give the children experience working on traditional and dimensional art in a variety of themed lessons throughout the season. Students should bring a smock to class or wear clothing suitable for this art class since we will be working with paint and other materials that can be messy at times.

Fairy Tale Princess Camp 2 - Full Day
Fairy Tale Princess Camp with more wonderful Princesses you know and love so well like Ariel, Alice In Wonderland, Tiana, Jasmine, Elsa, and more will delight our campers this summer. This week long camp includes creative movement activities with various themes and basic ballet dancing skills too. Campers enjoy dance games, make theme related arts and crafts, enjoy a story time, and learn about proper Princess manners for a tea party too! Parents and Friends are invited to a special in-studio mini-performance and reception on our last day of the camp. This is a very popular full day, week-long camp for girls only. Camp hours are 9:00am to 3:00pm Monday through Friday. We do NOT provide early drop off or late pick up times. This camp is only open to girls ages 4.5-8 years of age. This camp costs $145 per child. There is a 10% discount for a second sibling who participates in the camp. Half of the camp fee is due at registration, and the other half of the camp fee is due by May 30th. After June 1st, paid camp fees are non-refundable for any reason. If you are unable to participate in a camp you have registered for, you may request credit for the camp be applied to your Collierville Arts Academy account for other summer camps, classes or for the fall session of classes. NOTE: No previous dance experience is needed for these camps. Students may wear whatever they like in our Children’s Dance Camps: Dance wear of your choice, fun costumes (that you can move in) or play clothing. Students will receive a dance journal for the week to make notes in and to hold important papers from the various workshop sessions. *Auditions for the Collierville Ballet Company will take place on the Friday morning of the SummerDANCE week. Dancers ages 9-21 may audition for open positions in the Collierville Ballet Company. Please visit the Collierville Ballet website at www.colliervilleballet.org for more information on auditions. This is a very popular full day, week-long dance intensive workshop for males and females ages 11-21 years. SummerDANCE hours are 9:00am to 3:00pm Monday through Friday. Fencers wishing to improve their skills need to intelligently practice, spar, and eventually compete. This training session focuses solely on sparring methods and strengthening the competition mindset. Fencers will be challenged to spar with conditional handicaps, selective approach strategies, and to expand their situational creativity in a dynamic manner. Fencers must provide their own electric competition equipment. *Fencers may only add this option if they are taking one or both weekday training sessions during the Summer Season.

Dance Discovery is for ages 4-5 years old. Dance Discovery syllabus introduces our young dancers to classical ballet movement, creative movement and tap dance foundational skills. We use age appropriate music, colorful props, along with creative and imaginative stories to enhance our classroom experience. We encourage the students to develop their coordination skills, self-discipline, and flexibility. Our Dance Discovery class is a wonderful opportunity for a young student to increase their self-confidence and develop a joy for dancing. Using safe, padded weapons, our BattleMasters will teach ages 6-up basic blade movement/handling skills, footwork, patterns, and block sets during regular classes. In addition to physical training, regular battle games are conducted to challenge the learners and give all the training meaning. In addition to the physical activities, emphasis will be placed on developing the high virtues of Discipline, Humility, Honor, and more as students progress through the levels of Initiate, Squire, Apprentice, and finally Knight. Level 3 classical ballet is for students with some previous dance experience (at least one season of ballet training). Our Level 3 syllabus covers classical ballet technique at the barre, center floor and across the floor. Combinations of steps build on their complexity throughout the season as the students' skills improve. Students explore creative story telling with their dance and learn to incorporate pantomime skills, acting, and creative expression through their ballet dance as they develop over time. Character dance, flexibility training, and choreography are taught throughout the season also. Our syllabus is rooted in the syllabus of the Royal Academy of Dance based in London. This class has a Required Dress Code Policy for this class which is purchased at the time of enrollment for this class. Ballet for beginning students offers a great foundation class for those wanting to study classical ballet. Students will work at the barre, center and across the floor as their skills build over time. Students will also begin learning proper dance terminology. Core Strengthening, flexibility training are included in our syllabus for this foundational class. Dancers need to wear proper dance/exercise attire and ballet shoes to this class. T-Shirts and cover ups are allowed for this class. Drawing - Int/Adv. (ages 12+) - This is a short course aimed at developing sketching and drawing skills for young artists. We use a variety of objects and subjects to spark the artists creativity and imagination while using traditional media such as pencil, charcoal, color pencils, etc. Students learn the techniques of shading, highlighting, textures, pressure techniques, and more. They will create many sketches and finished drawings on subjects that range from still life, landscapes and animals. All materials are provided. Students should understand that this class will be working with various art media and should wear clothing that is appropriate for the class or bring a smock with them to the class.

Level 1 Ballet and Tap Ages 5-6
Level 1 Ballet and Tap is a fabulous foundational classical ballet and tap dance class for students ages 5 - 6 years old. Our Level 1 dance class syllabus covers age appropriate classical ballet techniques and tap dance techniques at the barre, center floor and across the room. Simple combinations of steps are introduced throughout the season as the students skills improve. Students will develop their rhythm and coordination skills in a classroom environment that encourages creativity through the use of imaginative music and creative stories. Students will use colorful props in their ballet and tap dance training also. This class has a Required Dress Code Policy for this class which is purchased at the time of enrollment for this class. This is a seasonal class that has an informal in-studio performance in December and a stage performance opportunity in our Annual Student Showcase in May 2020. This class may also audition for age appropriate roles in the Collierville Ballet production of The Nutcracker which is performed in December 2019 at the Harrell Theatre in Collierville. Tigers Karate Ages 6-11
Tigers Karate (Ages 6-11) is a 45-minute class designed for children ages 6-11 years of age. This class is for new students to Karate and focuses on developing martial arts discipline, fundamental skills, and simple patterns. Using games and challenges, students will memorize Japanese words, develop basic coordination, balance, and learn proper karate stances/movements. All students are required to wear our Tigers Karate T-shirt and/or karate gi (uniform) which can be purchased in our studio shop area after enrollment. Fencers, age 10 and up, who wish to develop beyond a beginning level may reinforce fundamental skills while focusing on advanced tactics and technique. Competitive conditioning will be a common theme as fencers work to eliminate negative technical issues while solidifying successful methods of attack and defense. Fencers must provide their own equipment.

Learn to Fence! Ages 10-up
Learn To Fence! is a one-time introductory trial class for ages 10-adults. This trial class is taught by Coach Thomas Knowles, National Fencing Finalist and Certified Professional Coach/Director. Students will learn some history, basic positions, movements, blade skills and get a chance to Fence! This class will answer all of your questions and inspire you to become a great fencer! **PLEASE NOTE: This is a one-time class session only and you must select your date by CLICKING ON SCHEDULE TRIAL LINK BELOW. Please do not register for this class or the system will ask you to pay for a registration fee - which is not necessary for taking part in the Learn To Fence trial class.

Dance Discovery Ballet and Tap Ages 4-5
Dance Discovery is for ages 4-5 years old. Dance Discovery syllabus introduces our young dancers to classical ballet movement, creative movement and tap dance foundational skills. We use age appropriate music, colorful props, along with creative and imaginative stories to enhance our classroom experience. We encourage the students to develop their coordination skills, self-discipline, and flexibility. Our Dance Discovery class is a wonderful opportunity for a young student increase their self-confidence and develop a joy for dancing. Youth Level Ballet & Jazz
Beg. Level Youth Ballet, & Jazz (ages 8-11) Students will learn proper ballet and jazz dance technique at the barre, center and across the floor using combinations of steps from our beginning level of our youth dance syllabus. This is a great starting place for older beginning students who really want to learn how to dance in a comfortable and age appropriate class setting. Students will begin learning stage direction, aspects of dance showmanship, and acting and pantomime skills help to enhance their dance and open a new dimension of creativity to their dance. Ballet - Technique
An open level classical ballet dance class offers students a great technique class that offers students work at the barre, center and across the floor and allows their skills to build over time. Students will also use proper dance terminology and learn pieces of choreography during the classes. Students with beginning and intermediate dance training are welcome to take this class. Core Strengthening, flexibility training are included in our syllabus for this important foundational class. Dancers need to wear proper dance/exercise attire and ballet shoes to this class.

Students will practice cold-read skills, preparation for filming, and delivery for the camera in this course. Students will select a 30-second spot to practice, memorize, and create a TV commercial which will be filmed on the last class. Students will be given a copy of their acting notes and completed TV Commercial to keep following the course. Students wear comfortable clothing and foot wear to this class. All notes and materials for this short course will be provided.

This short course will cover basic walking, poses, turns and industry terminology to help students be ready for auditions for stage plays, modeling, etc. Students will learn to 'slate' their names for the camera and how to introduce themselves for interviews. This course is very helpful for students competing pageants, theatrical plays, or those who are interested in modeling or acting for TV or film. Students should attend this class in comfortable clothing that allows for movement. Hard sole shoes (dress shoes) are recommended for practicing runway walking and turns. Do not wear flip flops or sandals to this class. All notes and materials are furnished for this class. Our final session includes a mini-fashion show and stage introduction of each of our participants.

Level 7 & 8 Ballet & Pointe Adv. Technique
Level 7 & 8 Ballet is for advanced level classical ballet dancers ages 13-23 years old. Our Level 7 & 8 syllabi further develops the advanced dancers' use of classical ballet techniques at the barre, center floor, across the floor, variations, and routines. Character dance, flexibility training, and choreography are taught throughout the season also. Our syllabus is rooted in the syllabus of the Royal Academy of Dance based in London; however, at the advanced levels our dancers train in RAD method, Vagonova (Russian style), and Cecchetti (Italian style) of ballet, so they are well-rounded and understanding of advanced techniques, terminology, and style. This class has a Required Dress Code Policy for this class which is purchased at the time of enrollment for this class. This is a seasonal class that has an informal in-studio performance in December and a stage performance opportunity in our Annual Student Showcase in May 2020. This class may also audition for age appropriate roles in the Collierville Ballet production of The Nutcracker which is performed in December 2019 at the Harrell Theatre in Collierville. This level may also audition to become a member of the Collierville Ballet Sr. Company.
