Beginner Tumbling – Age 7 - 12
The class is suitable for children who are aged 7 -12 years who are wanting to develop fundamental tumbling skills including various rolls, handstands, cartwheels and bridges and also includes different tumbling shapes and jumps. The class also incorporates beginner flexibility and strength.

Monday Hand Balancing
In a basic handstand, the body is held straight with arms and legs fully extended and hands spaced approximately shoulder-width apart. There are many variations of the handstand, but in all cases, handstands must maintain adequate balance.

Once the basic handstand is mastered, you can progress to learning the art of hand-balancing, which requires a great deal more strength both upper body and core to balance.

Hand balancing can be performed on the floor, blocks or canes and can involve standing on one hand, or twisting and bending the body to create shapes. This discipline is often performed in conjunction with contortion and acrobatics.

Intermediate 1 Tumbling – Age 8 – 12
The class is suitable for children who are aged 8 + years, have already developed the fundamental skills and are wanting to grow their skills even further. Intermediate 1 tumbling skills include further progression with their rolls and handstands, the necessary skills to progress to bridges and aerial cartwheels and also includes aerial tumbling shapes and advanced jumps. The class also incorporates advanced flexibility and strength.

Students must demonstrate the necessary skills before moving towards advanced skills such as handsprings and flips.

Flexibility and strength are both equally important in assisting the students to achieve their tumbling goals. The program is designed to reassure safe practice while stretching and encourage physical exercise. Each lesson the students learn the names of the muscle and how we use them in tumbling.

Throughout the term, the students mark their strength goal chart and receive before and after pictures of their flexibility allowing the them to easily see their achievements so far.
