FLEXdance- 24 lessons, Sept-May. A pivotal year in ballet training, this in an introduction to a full length traditionally structured classical ballet class. Specific techniques covered will include a thorough warm-up, body alignment, musical rhythms, correct and safe execution of steps, center floor combinations, and diagonal floor patterns. We utilize a traditional ballet curriculum to properly strengthen the dancers’ bodies while building their self-confidence. As we encourage a nurturing and warm environment, we still include many creative dance games and exercises to keep the class engaging and interesting, while the dancers are developing their centers and muscles. The American Academy of Ballet syllabus is introduced. Prerequisites: Completion of Storybook Ballet and/or Pre-Ballet programs or be evaluated and recommended by the Director.
