Master Class with Gina Artese
Gina currently teaches ballet at Elite Dance Academy in NYC, gives master classes nationally and is a judge for Dancers Inc. She danced with Kansas City Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet, The Suzanne Farrell Ballet, Christopher Wheeldon’s Morphoses and Twyla Tharp, The Charleston at the Piccolo Spoleto Festival and most recently in My Princess Diana a musical in New York City for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. She danced live at The Kennedy Center Honors on CBS and in Balanchine’s Don Quixote with Edinburgh Festival in Scotland.
Ms. Artese recently played a ballet teacher on a new tv pilot for Starz called Run The World. She has guest starred in Netflix's Friends From College , and a as dancing/singing cat on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. She was a ballerina on The Blacklist and was pranked on Impractical Jokers. She is the face of Bridezillas and competed on FOX’s The Choice in 2012. Gina was a featured ballerina in Black Swan, Center Stage and Our Idiot Brother. She was featured in Something Borrowed and country line dancing in The Americans. She has booked commercials for Old Navy and Macy's with Diddy and also played "Tina" in Tony and Tina's Wedding.

Last year, cast members performed 4 times to a full house at the historic Scottish Rite Auditorium and this season dancers will perform with social distancing measures kept in place! With choreography by the amazing Husan Wong and direction under Danielle Campbell Steans, rehearsals begin weekends, starting September 2020. Only a limited number of cast members will be accepted.
Auditions are open to artists of all ages 3- adult.

The difficulty level increases in this class as simple head and arm movements are incorporated in to the exercises. The barre exercises increase to develop and strengthen concentration levels. Additional steps are introduced that demand emphasis on technique, such as improvement on using body weight changes, placement, and equilibrium. At this level, barre work is executed using both hands. Center and allegro exercises increase, reinforcing the work done at the barre.

Main Objective: The barre, center and allegro work continue at this level with longer and more complex combinations, and many steps are executed on relevé in preparation for Pointe work. Mastery of self positioning in group formations is an important skill for this class. The Pointe class is mandatory and is taken simultaneously with Ballet 3, once a week for one hour.
