All Around
All Around (1.5 Hour Class) Acceptance into this class is by evaluation and acceptance by the director. Intended for students who wish to be proficient in all 3 disciplines of performing arts, Drama, Dance and Voice. It is also a good stepping stone for future involvement in the performing group SALTPAC. One hour a week is dedicated to Drama and Voice performance technique. The other hour is a dance class on foundational technique. The director will assist in directing the student to the right dance class based on the student’s level of experience. The students learn parts of the stage, projection, how to take direction, reading and interpreting a script and blocking. Emphasis on Musical Theater and in addition, exposure to various styles and genres of performance, theater, TV, commercials, persuasive speech and monologues and learning supporting vocal and dance numbers. Stage Craft (1 to 2+ Hour Class) From costuming hair and make up to back stage and set design, this class has it all. We will have instructors from every industry and different businesses contributing to this amazing class. Students taking this class are required to participate in two or more productions a year and 1 recital and will have the opportunity to be a part of many events throughout Gresham and the Metro area. Advanced Theater
Class by invitation only. This class is open to serious, mature and experienced actors who wish to expand and deepen the craft of acting. Ages 15 through Adult may participate by invitation or by request with acceptance by the director. It is the second dramatic arts class for Adults during the year, the first being Players who host the Adult kickoff production in the Fall. This class focuses on several techniques that enhance the actors ability to respond genuinely in dramatic circumstances through emotions, activity and physicality. Be prepared to be challenged, honestly critiqued and guided toward and through break-throughs that typically hold actors back. Monologue and script memorization required. This class focuses on centering, strengthening the body, increasing flexibility, improving balance, proper placement, body alignment, fluidity and emotion. The dancer learns to let the music and their own passion guide the movement. class consists of a warm up with stretching, centre work, and a full dance routine at the end of the class which is all set to contemporary music. Our weekly themed camps focus on Dancing, Singing, Acting, Themed Crafts, Art, Games and an outdoor outing. All activities are designed for both boys and girls ages 3-5 and 6-8 (two groups) and will include a performance and art show at 6:00 pm on that Friday evening, for the parents and family. From pen and ink, pencil, watercolors, oils to block printing, embroidery, fabric dying, weaving and photography. This art course will inspire your inner creative artist. Using different creative mediums, we will explore the vast world and how we see it. Come join our group as we find our inner artist. Ages 9-12 Final Art show Friday evening at 6:00 pm
